What would a .40 OMC be worth???

Hey PS Fam,

Trying to do some research for a future bezel pendant project and I have been eyeing a .40 OMC, G-H in color, SI2-I1 clarity. It looks pretty eye clean to me

In your knowledgable opinions how much do you think this stone is worth????

Hi LM,

I googled .40 carat Old Mine Brilliant and the closest item I found was a .40 carat Old Mine Brilliant J/SI2 in a gold ring that sold for $225...so my guess would be $500 or so. Unfortunately, it's really difficult to determine the value because it depends on what a buyer is willing to pay for something, I believe. In this case, for example, I wouldn't pay more than $600, but if you really like it and really want it, what would you be willing to pay for it? Does it seem like a good deal to you? Or, are you just trying to get a feel for the price you might pay when looking for one? LOL...probably not much help...sorry.
