"Pear Shape Rose Cut" That''s the description of a diamond for sale by an exporter on Ebay India.

Also, another piece - a ring described as "turn of the century"- with a pear shaped center stone (with trillion side stones) decribed as , "old mine rose cut" AND "European rose cut".

Are pear shaped, old mine, old European and rose cut mutually exclusive?



Note: I''m not shopping for diamonds on Ebay. I just like to snoop.

Old Mine, and Old European and Rose cuts are mutually exclusive. You can have a rose cut in the shape of a pear, round, oval, or cushiony, etc. Old Mine is a specific cut, as is the OEC.
