Hello everyone! New to the site and I would like to know what you guys think and would recommend about this diamond. It is from a B&M store. This will be an upgrade for my wife. She has a 1.22 carat vvs1 F 3E and the one I want to upgrade to is 2.5carat si1 F 3E with new setting.

Hca is 2.6

Thanks for all the advice in advance!!

With no pics or images, the only questions are: what did you think of it and how much is it?

Additional clouds, pinpoints and surface graining not shown.

This would not be my choice. HCA of 2.8 is an immediate elimination in my book. I would be worried about leakage. With the low crown angle and large table you’ll have a lot of brightness but very little fire. My personal preference is for a good balance of fire and brilliance....leaning towards more fire.

I'm not a good judge of MRBs by number but going from a VVS1 to S1 is a consideration. You'd need to see if it's a 'good' S1 and worth going up in size for, or maybe look for a VS1 that's slightly smaller?

hca > 2 is a no no, keep looking.

Awesome!! Thank you so much for the response. I will be in the store tomorrow to personally look at it. I'll try to take some pictures of it too. I was leaning towards another diamond but salesman being salesman... .the guy is somewhat pressing about how "nice and eye clean" it is. None the less, I will be spending a lot more time in the store tomorrow.

this looks like a 60/60 diamond. It will have a lot of brilliance but little fire (colorful flashes). it has a very low crown height of 13, it’s going to have a flat top look.
