A jeweler provided me with a GIA report of a stone arriving Thursday. Looks interesting on paper, really curious if its gonna have some "flash"...given a triple X... Does Sym and Pol really have an effect on a stone like this?

Heres the stats
RB 1.70ct H SI1(eye clean)
Cut- EX
Pol-EX
Sym-EX

7.60x7.64x4.71

Also was quoted 12200 out the door, thought it was very reasonable.

Opinions on what I can/should expect...THANKS

what is the crown and pavilion angles of the stone?

I am guessing by the dimensions that this stone is on the deep side. I have a 1.73 and it's 7.75 x 7.76...

Do you have a copy of the cert? If so, post the numbers for depth, table, pavilion and crown...

Yes, my 1.63 is 7.6mm, so it is facing up smaller than it should for the weight.

Table 60%
Crown Angle 35 Crown Depth 14.5%
Pavilion Angle 41.2 Pavilion Depth 43.5%
Girdle Med to Slt Thk

According to the GIA charts it falls into the Excellent Cut alongside Very Good

yes, it is on the deep side - out of curiosity what is the total depth of the stone?

You can do better than this diamond, we need the depth also but from the info we have it is what we call a steep deep and can leak light and not perform as well as it could do. The critical angles are far more important than symmetry and polish, look at each diamond as a whole.

The entire depth is 61% With the 60% table.
