Well, let me first say that I am sorry that you have had this experience. The ring is beautiful but if it''s not for you then it''s not for you! When I first started reading these posts, I have to say that I had the same thought. While it is wonderful for someone to try and surprise you, it can be a total bomb if you''re not pleased with it. I am so picky that I am 100% sure that my DH would not try to pick something in the jewelry line out for me. He is great to suggest something new or to come up with the $$, but the shopping is left up to me. I always try to take him with me when I have found something I like - just to see if he likes it. It is important to me to choose something that we both like but ultimately the choice is mine.Date: 2/23/2006 4:54:47 PM

DiamondLil trust me you guys will have to help me get through this. Because when I first set out to upgrade from my 1ct three stone ring I was like I want something that I can ware from now and forever and always be able to look at my hand and be like sigh..... The more I looked and still look at the halo I''m more like Oh God!!! trust me I wish some men out there that are fixing to start the road to diamondville would read this and make sure that their FI has as much to do with their ering or wedding set as he does . I''m not saying that it was my DH''s fault because I did set every night on the computer and looked at different halos from James Allen. So that''s where my hubby got the idea to go and have the family jeweler fix me up. So if you fall in love with something you''ve never tried before please go do so before your DH or FI thinks to surprise you.![]()

This whole experience hopefully underscores for everyone shopping for such a large purchase to try things on in the stores first before taking the leap...don''t just buy from online images without seeing and ensuring you will like the look on your hand. There are so many times when I love something on someone else''s hand and try it on and it looks horrible on me (Daniel K!).
It''s very kind of your jeweler to want to make you happy and offer to do whatever you want, but I''m sure he has to eat some costs doing it, so I would just say make this next chance really count.
I also agree with Deco that buyers remorse is huge in these types of purchases, when we got my e-ring I was like oh it sits too high, the band is too thick, etc etc...my hand looked really weird with it on, I felt a little like it wasn''t really ME at the time either. Funny thing how I got used to it...when I added my w-ring onto it I had the same issue...I went for a week thinking oh I don''t like the set, I miss just having one ring, etc. But a few weeks later I was used to it.
Now when I try on OTHER settings in stores and stuff, 99% of them feel like those aren''t ME at all because I am so used to seeing my rings on my hand. Stuff I used to like way back when looks like it''s set too low or this or that.
So really alot of it does have to do with getting used to something different on your hand in the first place. But if you are TOTALLY sure this is not you (by the way the set is just absolutely love on your hand), then make the change and hopefully it''s the last! Good luck.
There is another thread going on right now that I''ve posted on, which basically "debates" the virtues, or lack thereof (LOL!), of trillions. I have them on my three-stone ring (center stone is round) and obviously I love them, but it is a VERY personal thing and some people on this forum really like them and some people really do not. Actually, some people have even HAD them, only to re-make their rings because they were very disappointed with the whole trillion thing. A great part of belonging to PS is gleaning the experience of others so we can learn from what they''ve been through and not have to go through the "angst" ourselves, and so take heed with the experience others have had with the trills as side stones. Again, I have them and I love them, but that is me and I am not wearing your ring, nor are you wearing mine, so I feel like I have to be totally upfront with you and give "full disclosure" and let you know about the other thread that really pertains to you at this point now that you are considering the three-stone w/ the trill sides.Date: 2/27/2006 3:31:00 PM

Well, I''ve been back to my jewelers and looked at what had come in. There was one that I did like, it would be my new and beatiful princess cut set between two trill''s but I just don''t know about them they just don''t catch light like the princess does. He said that if I was to want to go with that he could get me just a plain matching band that would sway in around the three stones. While I was there he called and ordered the twotone set, At cost to me he could get it sooner but I told him that I didn''t want to hurry that I wanted everything to set in my mind on what the set might look like. But I do want it to get there so I can put it on my hand. So I''ll post again when I here more news about the twotone setting. All of you guys are going to get sick of me talking about it... I hope you hang in there with me, I need other diamond lovers support!!!!![]()
