Absolutely!

So. It turns out I already have an octagon setting! But. It is ideally suited for an 8.3 mm. I would have to get really creative to add layers to it? Also, would it look too much like an engagement ring?
A VERY lucky find!! ❤
Wow! Thank you!! I’m glad that i pulled the trigger!
Wow what a ring, that diamond is really cool and the setting is just huge!
Nala, No one knows settings and what looks good on your finger more than you do. I love the setting you posted. I can’t wait to see this set. It’s beautiful.
Nala, I have no doubt you will figure it out and come up with something stunning. It’s been a lot of fun looking at the beautiful settings you have found thru the years. Everything looks beautiful on your hand!
Omg the more pics of it I see the more I love it. It definitely needs to be bezeled. so gorgeous!
It is such an unusual cut and pretty stone. Frankly, less is more to really show case it. I like the idea of sapphires or perhaps emeralds bezelled and flanking the octagon sides With an ornate filigree basket so it looks like it came from the 1920s. IMHO throwing more diamonds into the setting will detract from the stone. I do the bezel set for this stone.
If the mock up is the actual setting there appears to be a lot of metal ‘halo’ at the edge. IMHO, any additions of stones other than those colored stones around the octagon sides will make the stone smaller. In other words, more finger coverage may result is diamond shrinkage. I love finger coverage and bling, but there are times that a small, dainty ring has its place.
