Hello Everyone

I am new here and thought I'd get some help. I have a 3 stone e-ring and don't know what kind of wedding band to get. If you have any ideas or pictures of a 3 stone ring and wedding band I can see to get an idea that would be much appreciated. :))

Thanks,
Diamonds Only

Your ring is just beautiful!!! I think my favorite look for a three stone is a plain narrow band. A thin diamond band might work, but I sort of think the three-stone ring should be the center of attention.

Oh yeah...specs.

Center is an excellent cut 3/4, g-h color and SI clarity

Side stones are 1/4 each and the same color and clarity

Thank you PurpleSilk!

Thanks DiamondSeeker! I thought I'd search now for ideas so I'm not a deer in headlights when we go looking. lol I LOVE bling so I thought the more sparkly the better. :) We just started planning for the wedding this month so I know I've got time, but needed others opinions and ideas.

Should I do a band the same width as the e-ring, thinner or bigger? I would think the same width, but I could be wrong.

I think a tad thinner looks nice but it needs to be the same shape as your e-ring. Your ring looks like it has straight sides
and a flat top...I think the wedding band should be the same style (if you go with a plain band).

Lovely ring!

Thanks tyty!

Yes my ring is a flat top and straight on the sides. I've looked online at bands and can't for the life of me find something that catches my eye. Any websites that have great looking bands? I've looked at Helzberg, Kay, Jared, Scott Kay....

I think a nice eternity or half eternity would be perfect with it

Your ring looks just like my best friend's e-ring. She chose a curved prong-set five-stone diamond band as her wedding band and it's gorgeous! I won't post a pic of her set without her permission, but her wedding band is very similar to the one below.

This is a Jeff Cooper design; not hers, but her ring is from a local jewelry store here in Boston.

I like the idea of an eternity or half eternity with a width a tiny bit narrower than your ering. It is lovely on your hand. My best advice to you is to try on as many as you need to til you find one you love. You may suprise yourself with what you end up choosing!

I have a 3 stone ring and I own several wedding bands. I have found the one that looks best if you want diamonds is a diamond channel eternity band. I have a shared prong diamond band and it takes away from my ring. The channel eternity band is more like simple understated bling. Otherwise, I think a plain band would look great. Good luck....

P.S. Sorry my pictures are so out of focus! LOL My rings look much nicer in person...

vanderaf..I SO love your diamond and sapphire 3-stone ring! And the channel set band does look great!

DiamondsOnly...since your e-ring band is more straight sided than curved, a channel set band might actually look good with yours as well. I would probably get one a little narrower than the e-ring. Shared prong bands might eat away at your e-ring prongs, so I'd be careful if you look at those. A great place to try on bands is Tiffanys if there is one near you, because they have such a great selection of styles. Go to tiffany.com and go to jewelry, wedding bands and you'll see all the great choices!

Thanks DiamondSeeker! I'll check out Tiffany's later on this afternoon. I definitely want a band with half diamonds and not an eternity. I would be afraid I would lose a stone and then it'd be bad news. lol

I appreciate all of your help! I love diamonds and just want to make sure my band is perfect. :))

Let us know what you think after checking Tiffany's. They definitely have the best selection of bands of anywhere I have seen. You will likely be able to get the same style for less elsewhere, but it really helps to try some on to decide on the best style for your e-ring.

Logan Sapphire-I LOVE the last wedding band. I am liking the idea of a half channel wedding band or the last one you have pictured. Is that a full eternity band? I'll have to search for something similar to what you have. May I ask where you got it from or a website that might have that?

I'm a newbie so I'm not sure what I can ask or not ask.

I also wanted to ask a question regarding how the husbands feel about us having multiple wedding bands, but not sure where to post that question. What board can I start that conversation on? I would hate to post it here when it's supposed to be a show and tell. :)

Thanks everyone for your help!

It's a full eternity ring with 5 pointers, for a total weight of 1.16ct. I think it's in a 3.75 for reference. I got it from Facets, but probably 5 years ago or so. It's their Raphael band though I don't think they offer that any more.

TYTY333-OMG I love that band and it would look beautiful with my e-ring!!!! Thank you so much! Maybe I could have something custom made, but with that band. I love it!!! Now I can work with a blank slate….my e-ring is custom made. The finace picked out the setting and hand-picked all 3 diamonds.

You'd need to be sure the thickness is right for any band you get, especially for the plain band to match your e-ring. A shared prong diamond band must be set low in order for the diamond edges to not cut into your e-ring prongs. And not all are. We've seen it here several times where there was damage and the people could no longer wear the shared prong bands with the e-ring. So when you try them on, look carefully at where the diamonds hit the e-ring. The Tiffany ones are lower than most, and they don't cause a problem in most cases. But they cost at least twice as much as comparable ones elsewhere. You can get a shared prong band that covers half the ring or full eternity.

Can I be a total pain? Can you show me a shared prong vs. a non shared prong? I’m more of a visual person…sorry if I’m a bother.
