Does this RB have potential?

  • I'm looking for good bang for the buck - while keeping the price low (.90 instead of 1 carat?)
  • I want the RB to appear as large as possible, while still falling into the EX or VG cut category (keep the depth low?)
  • I also want decent color and clarity on a budget (J-H with medium to strong blue fluorescence?)

Don't have any pics yet, but here are the stats:

.91 RB - GIA Certified - $3,128.00
Cut - EX
Clarity - SI1 (vendor says is eye clean)
Color - I
Polish - EX
Symmetry - EX
Fluorescence - Strong Blue (vendor says no haziness)
Depth - 60.0
Table - 60.0
Crown - 34.0
Pavilion - 40.8
Girdle - Medium to Slightly Thick (3.5%) faceted
HCA - 1.7 - falls into the GIA EX and AGS Ideal boxes

Sound decent?

well considering that is is GIA certified SI1 and the vendor says its eyeclean- the clarity is good.
It's an I- scores under a 2.0 on the HCA.... sounds like it will be a good diamond. Pictures/Aset would give a better idea of how well the stone performs.

I personally tend to prefer a smaller table, but otherwise it looks nice. Ditto Amysbling.

Why a smaller table?

How does it look different?

Looks promising. Ditto KK-can you get pictures?

Smaller tables can lend themselves to more fire, where larger tables will maximize white light return. Ideal cut stones will usually be a balance of both.

60/60 cuts with good proportions can be nice stones, just a different look. Some prefer this, and they do often face up large for their carat weight.

(sorry if I repeated anything-had to scroll through quickly)
