I am looking at princess cut stones in the 2 - 3 carat range for an engagement ring. I found one that I like but I am a bit concerned about the shallow depth and cut although it seems to reflect light really well. Here are are the specs

GIA cert
Shape/Style = Square Modified Brilliant
Dimensions = 7.78 X 7.76 X 5.48
Weight = 2.52 Carat
Depth = 70.4%
Table = 80%
Girdle = Extremely thin to thin
Culet = none
Polish - good
symetry = good
Clarity grade = VS2
Color = G
Flourescense = none
comments = none

This stone is supposedly a consignment for a customer whos engagement got broken off. I can pick it up for around 15k. I understand specs but I am a total novice. Is this a good deal? Thanks

I doubt that anyone would recommend buying a diamond with an extremely thin girdle.

Here is a similar diamond for comparison:

However, the diamond you are considering is more square than this stone and has an *extremely thin girdle* and large table, which does make a difference in the price. If I were you I would spend the $15 on a stone like these:
