Hi,
My brother gave me a stone he brought back from Afganistan. I have no idea what it is. I''m pretty sure its not anything
expensive. Anybody got any guesses to what it is so I can learn about it?

Thanks

This first picture was taken outside. The stone sort of looks washed out. Also, the stone shows a little more blue but
I couldnt get any of the pics to show the blue.

I don''t know what it is but I''m lovin'' the reddish purple color. A pendant definitely if it''s a soft stone. May have to take it to a gemologist to get it identified.

It looks like an amethyst to me to, but better to have it checked.

It could be a spinel. If you want to send it to me along with postage to mail it back, I''ll ID for you at no charge.
A very generous offer that I think should be taken up.
