What is the one piece you consider yourself lucky to own even now?

I don’t think this has been asked in this forum recently.

I’m curious about one piece that you bought that you felt lucky to buy and still feel lucky to own today?

Not sharing mine (you probably know anyways) yet, just genuinely want to see what everyone’s “can’t believe it’s mine” piece is.

My two have to be Almond Blossom ring and my Alexandrite bracelet.
I’m an opal lover of many many decades. The first time I saw Almond Blossom ring my breath was taken away. It was owned by a PSer and thankfully and gratefully she rehomed Almond Blossom ring to me across the seas to Australia.
The Alexandrite bracelet was a 9 day eBay auction. I’m not joking when I say it seemed like the longest 9 days of my life. Normally my eBay rule is bid once, my max, and let the dice roll. For the alexandrite bracelet I increased my bid at least 6 times. It ended overnight and I went to bed that evening feelings sick with nerves after upping my bid one last time. When I awoke with a win and a $50 buffer I honestly felt like I’d won the lottery.

It's beautiful

I only have one antique piece that I’ve bought myself rather than inherited, but it definitely called to me & I feel it was meant to be mine. I had been watching it MONTHS whilst actively trying to find one similar but cheaper, as it was in the US & already listed at £890 GBP plus import fees, so I was itchy. I reached out to the seller & they happily agreed to meet my price point & it arrived within 3 days by FedEx. This is A&D’s wedding ring from 1917. I’ll never know their story & why this band is so pristine & unworn (did she die in childbirth shortly after the marriage, was it a hurried war wedding & he didn’t return so she removed the ring in pain??) but I feel a real connection to it & hope whatever happened, the time they had together was happy & full of joy.

@lavenderdragonfly23, starting this thread off strong! Beautiful pieces, I mean, just owning ONE would be incredible but all three is really something.

@Bron357, I still remember you posting when you first acquired that beautiful ring and that amazing bracelet. The ring is a true work of art and the bracelet…what a find!

@Ally T, wow 1917 so over a hundred years old and so pristine. I love thinking about the history behind these old wedding bands, who owned them and the story behind these old proposal and wedding. Maybe she loved the ring so much she didn’t wear it much, just kept it tucked away

@RRfromR, that ruby ring is stunning and how lucky to get it before the the prices jumped so high. Also love that diamond ring, I remember seeing it and was really tempted, glad another PS’er got it!

@YadaYadaYada they made a pricing mistake because I follow them and none were priced the same after that :)

The opal ring is really a work of art. I have always thought so. It's really striking and special.

I have two. First is my vintage opal octopus. I can't tell you how much I love this guy and I am so happy I was able to snag him. My jeweler says he is irreplaceable. My second is my Art deco emerald and diamond bracelet. I've wanted one like this for years and I finally have it!

@Catmom LOVE the octopus, he is so stinkin cute and the bracelet is Oscar worthy. That bracelet with an elegant long black dress, I could totally see a celebrity rocking that for an awards show.

Oh my, I love creatures jewelry anything. It's gorgeous

I love things that are unusual and historically interesting.
When I look at this one, I still can't believe it found it's way to me. I stumbled upon it at an estate sale.

It's a necklace made from Georgian period watch parts.
It is gilt brass and each piece is a little hand carved work of art.

So gorgeous! A jewelry store made these into earrings and pendants with a small stone at the center. I thought they were fabulous, but could never commit.

That sounds beautiful!
From what I've read, when fusee pocket watches became obsolete in the 1830s, jewelers were keeping the cases for the gold content, and making the decorative inner parts into jewelry.

@stracci2000, I remember when you bought this, I had never seen anything like it and still haven’t. It’s really an amazing work of art make up of smaller works of art. I love it!

This is so beautiful- wow

I am sure some of you have heard my story before but I will repeat it here for any newcomers.

My HG stone baby K (for Kallista).. she was posted for sale twice by two different vendors a few months apart.. before I was lucky enough to call her mine. I couldn't believe my luck and the fact that I have a 5+ carat on my finger seems surreal when I think about it.

She was just waiting for you … baby K is one of my top three favorite diamonds on PS. I’m so happy she’s yours :kiss2:

Aww thanks! He is a little cutie isn't he. When I first saw the bracelet I was like Holy Sh*t, I WANT that but I had to remain very cool so hubby could do his thing haggling over the price.

This is the first time I’m seeing the back of the octopus - he is an absolute marvel, wow. Detail and refinement everywhere! There is a good octopus novel that made me cry- “Remarkably Bright Creatures”.

I will always remember that ring and I am so glad that it is yours! It is wearable art.

And when I first learned about your bracelet it was so fun to share the excitement!

Imagine making something so beautiful, even its parts would be remade into jewelry!

Wow! That opal has so much fire. And the flowers around it is a design I've never sen anything like.

My art deco unheated Burma ruby. This was just before the prices went insane

Those are lovely and classic. The contrast of the ruby and the surrounding diamonds really sets off that unique red color.

Is it the price of natural rubies that's gone insane or precious metals in general? It seems like the cost of sterling silver has soared. I bought some James Avery charms this month and their prices are noticeably more than they used to be.
