What in the world IS this?

DD found it on the ground in a parking lot. It almost looks like a centuries old coin of some sort. Any ideas?

It's between the size of a nickel and a quarter, roughly.

Just offhand, it looks like a modern stamped piece that's intended to look like an old cast piece. The symbol on the back (cross and dove) looks vaguely like a very stylized Huguenot cross.

My guess is the opposite - it is a modern casting made to resemble an old stamped coin.

It's a trinket carried around by some Christians to be reminded that the sincere sacrifices of the poor are more valued by God than extravagant but insincere donations by the rich.
