What followed me home from Intergem: GemstonesBTY and Sapphire Band

I got to spend just 2 hours at the gem show today, and even so, was late picking up my kids from school (I know, bad mother

). I took forever to decide between 2 gemstones-by-the-yard necklaces: one had gemstones spaced fairly close together (about 13mm apart), and the other one was spaced farther apart, like a traditional DBTY necklace. I liked them both, but I picked the one with more presence - I just hope it doesn''t look too busy or cluttered. I saw these at the last gem show months ago, and have thought about them ever since, so I guess that''s a good sign.

Also, last time I went, I got a tiny ruby band, but after just one day, one of the rubies fell out so I returned it. I've since regretted it because it was a good price, and they're hard to find in stores, so I looked for a replacement today. Didn't find any rubies, but did find the exact ring in sapphires.

I have a citrine pendant with a rather large bale, so I tried it with the necklace - I actually like it and think it makes the necklace hang nicely.

I also have the same design in earrings (I know, I went through a phase about 10 years ago - I loved the look then). Since I never really wear them, I''m thinking about having them made into pendants so I could switch them out with the citrine. Of course, then I''d be left with one earring, and what do I do with that? But at least I''d get some use out them again.

OK, that is super clever! I need a pendant to go with my GBTY so I can keep it hanging nicely. Mine''s got more space between them gemstones than yours does, but I LOVE this look!!!!!!!

Your gemstoneBTY necklace is just perfect! I think it looks wonderful with or without your pendant. And I just love your sapphire ring with your e-ring. They are such wonderful complements to each other! It doesn''t overpower your e-ring, but doesn''t get lost either. Those sapphires such can hold their own! Simply beautiful!
