HI Jennifer:

Sounds lucious to me--but I love natural yellow diamonds; and my rationale for endorsing a marquis is in my sisters ER, whose 1.10 stone looks tres fab on her 3 3/4 finger. So IMHO excellent all round.

cheers

Hey, Sharon...Have you ever seen a fancy yellow MQ in person? I couldn't believe it when I did...they are AWESOME & I never would have thought of it (I always think "radiant" when I think fancy yellow!). I like MQs anyway but in the fancy yellows--to die for!

HI J:

I saw a small, natural light marquise some years ago at the same place that I recently saw an intense oval--and the oval was much more spectacular both b/c of it's size and saturation. So it is like comparing Macs and Granny Smiths and a bit unfair; that said, but I have NO doubt that a marquise of the magnitude you describe would be mouth watering.

Goes Graf have such bobbles? Do I need to fly to NYC to drool?

cheers

Sharon

I saw it in the Diamond District.

I couldn't tell you what storefront...I spent a Saturday there having *fun* and checking out fancy yellows. Your are so right on the saturation...I learned that day that I prefer the fancy and fancy intense stones, and in the size and style I want, they are waaaaay out of reach. But hey--20 yr anniversary is 12 years away. A lot could happen...

My 10th is 13 months away, and I've already told hubby that I would like a 3-4 ct. center stone (new) ring. I really don't want round, as I have several that are 1+ ct. rounds already, but I just hope he consults me when the time comes.

vtigger you are the exception to the rule on men and diamonds.

Today Greg and I were discussing upgrades and he said when he gets a diamond my size then I can have a bigger one. I said that wasn't natural...but hey we can work something out... aka he takes my stone and I get a whole new one? I like that idea!

Oh and HAH it's funny to see my list from a year ago. I already have my diamond pendant (Regent) for now..which is smaller but give me time.

For 1 year anni (and 30 year bday which is this month) I'm trying to finagle the 2c upgrade. HAH...and I thought 5 years? Forget it!

wellll...let me tell you ,i still have a custom make gent's 14k wg ring that is empty since i took the 3.34 ct rb out(too big for me) and remounted in a ladies 4 prong ring, that gent's ring sure looks lonely without a diamond .

I have about 18 months until my 20th, and I answered this poll last year with an upgraded e-ring or diamond stud earrings. I've goten both of those, so am now thinking about either a RHR or just a beautiful anniversary band to go with my e-ring. (It might take a new setting for my e-ring to go with the new band.) Part of me wants to be surprised -- let DH pick something out to make it a pure gift from him. Part of me wants control!

Who knows...18 months is a long ways away, and I just recycled an old setting into a beautiful band, so may have to rethink that one.
