**thanks for your help guys !!

the crown number makes no sense, please check this out.

it is an EGL grading report, that what it says......??

I think it has the potential to be a beautiful stone. While not an AGS "ideal" stone, that doesn't mean it won't be beautiful. The HCA score is 1.9 VG/EX/VG/VG and suggests that it's a BIC (brilliant ideal cut)

The crown number 12.9 is the crown height percentage, and while it's not in the ideal range for crown height, it just means that the crown angle is on the shallow side, which actually complements the slightly deep pavillion which is 43.7%

If it is a true H SI2, that's good that it matches the egl report, however the more important thing is that it is eye-clean, regardless of what the clarity grade is. The clarity grades are given based on the difficulty of locating inclusions under magnification, not whether the inclusions are visible to the naked eye. therefore, it's acutally possible to have an I1 stone that doesn't have any inclusions visible to the naked eye while an SI2 stone might have eye visible inclusions. I don't know the exact percentage of how many SI2 stones are eye-clean, but there's definitely a good number that are not, so that's something to definitely check out.

One last point, even if the EGL report is 100% accurate, a stone with an egl cert will be slightly discounted compared to a gia or ags graded stone.

The jeweller did assure me it was indeed an si2 h , infact he said that he has a si2 h in with a gia cert that I can compare it to before I buy it, of course the gia is alot more in price..............what does everyone else think of this stone?

Wouldn't it just be better to compare different reports for the SAME stone?

I am not familiar with EGL, do they plot the stones' inclusions as well, I assume they do.

My only thing to tell you is that you should take a look at that stone LONG and HARD and then AGAIN! Why? Because if you see something a month from now, it will be too late.

BEFORE you buy it, make sure you memorize that stone and you LOVE IT...Just me, but I am not too good with seeing small inclusions, but SI1's and SI2's are always obvious to ME...everyone has their tolerance, and there are great SI1's and SI2's out there. Maybe your is one!

at lest the number sound good.

The grades are good for comparing prices, that's all. If the stone looks white and clean to you, why would the numbers on the cert matter anymore? All we can see is the cert details, and they say that this stone has great chances to be a charmer in person and compare favorably in terms of cut with the majority of other RBCs. Not much more one can expect from a few numbers and letters! You are the lucky one to get and judge the stone for it's own merit.

.. and tell us wether the grades and numbers were indeed a good prediction as the posts on this thread try to persuade you

Im not saying it's not an H SI2. I'm just saying that the fact that it is graded SI2 doesn't guarantee that the stone is "eye-clean". The SI2 grade is a tricky one, and I'm just saying to thoroughly examine the inclusions to see if it is or will be visible to your naked eye, unless you don't care about eye visible inclusions. It's better to think about it now, than six month's done the road when you find a visible inclusion, 'cause when you do, you'll always know where it is and it'll be a lot easier to see. If you don't care about the possibility of seeing a small imperfection in the stone, then you definitely have nothing to worry about. If you do, then my advice is just to address the issue of whether it's eye-clean or not, regardless of the grade that's on the report.
