OK I just saw the other contender and here are the stats:

AGS 0010125904

8.42 - 8.46 x 5.23 mm
2.298 ct

Total Depth: 61.9%
Table: 56.5%
Girdle: Thin to Thick, Faceted (2.0%-5.0%)
Culet: Pointed
Plish: Very Good
Symmetry: Excellent
Color: D
Clarity: SI2
Crown Angle: 36.0 degrees
Pavilion: 40.5 degrees

I think that I like this one best. It was crazy sparkly!

This store has a branded diamond called the "Trae." They have something similar to the Ideal Scope only it is called an Ideal Viewer or something like that. I saw the what you all talk about as an Idealscope picture and I also saw the hearts and arrows. The hearts and arrows were very symmetrical and perfect. He said that this diamond has not been branded because they just got it in for me from their buyer and they wouldn''t even have it long enough to brand it.

If I do not want it, it goes to someone else on Monday.....ahhh!

Its a winner and within fiery ideal cut range too!

Yes a h&a viewer is just that, enables you to see hearts on an unset diamond and the arrow patterning. Have you checked carefully it is eyeclean to your standards? Its a big rock and you want to check it out thoroughly. The type of diamond this is, it could show extra fire or coloured light if the lighting is right, so it could be a very lovely diamond.

What are the grade setting inclusions too marked on the report?

weird that if it is a brand why they do not want to send it for a DQD report instead of a DQR.

Anyway numbers looks good. I think the viewer they have is a H&A viewer though, not an idealscope, it is used to view optical symm, thus you can see hearts image, not for light return.

Report link.

I could only see inclusions when viewing from the side but that doesn''t bother me as you won''t see it when set.

Well they have a "store brand" but this diamond was specifically found by their buyer for me. They have been looking for something for me for a few weeks. The store does not own the diamond yet. If I do not buy it it will go to a different vendor. he was saying that if the store were to have purchased it to just have in its inventory, it would have qualifed as their branded diamond. I don''t know what DQD/DQR mean

Different reports from AGS.

DQR is a simplier report, cheaper too, and this one not sure about when it is graded but it those not have the cut graded. Do you have the date for this report? DQD report is more expensive and the cut is graded using a performance based system, much more accurate.

If you are happy with it then thats fine.

DQD = diamond quality document which is the premier AGS report, being phased out now with the platinum report

DQR = diamond quality report which will be replaced with the gold report. It looks as if this diamond will have this type of report.

Thanks for the feedback! I''m on vaca till sun with no computer. We are going back mom so my bf can look too. I will ask more questions about your input then! Thanks again

You were right, the viewer that this Jewler has is for symmetry purposes only so I guess it is a Hearts and Arrows viewer. He said it was originally designed by Hearts on Fire. I confused it with the Ideal Scope because when I looked inside it was red like what all of the ideal scope pictures. Regardless, the arrows and hearts are perfect which is obviously a good thing!

I went to look at both the first stone I posted about and the last stone. The last one (2.29 ct, D, SI2) was hands down the prettier stone. (http://agslab.com/reportTypes/pdqr.php?StoneID=0010125904&Weight=2.298&D=1) We took it out and looked at it in all different lights, under the desk, in the sunlight, with the diamond viewing room lights on and off and it sparkled no matter where we were. The E SI2 just didn't have the fire and brilliance this one did. They were $2K difference in price (settings included) which is a substantial amount of money but if you are going to spend a lot you mine as well go all the way and get the better looking stone.

So, I left the store but I think my boyfriend put down the deposit so that they don't have to send it back today and then he can go back and pay the rest this week.

Thank you so much for all of your help here. I have gotten such a great education and the diamond salesperson at Long's told me that if I wanted to become a GIA grader I could even skip the GIA 101 class, hahah! He was very impressed with how educated I was and how good my terminology on all of the aspects of the diamond was as well.

I will make sure to post pictures when it is on my finger

Oh and correct me if I'm wrong but I think that $23,600 (including a platinum setting) is a good price for this H&A stone!

Sounds like you have found your stone - congratulations!!!
