The thing I was most worried about was that the inclusion was right in the middle of the diamond. It is a VS2 (GIA certified) and I understand that is pretty highly magnified, so would it be noticeable in 'real life'?

Is there anything else that I should be concerned about with this particular diamond?

I've read through all of the opinions on the Solasfera that I could find, but if anyone has anything there to share that would be appreciated as well. This will be for an engagement ring and consequently, she isn't going to help pick it.

I just joined today ( :wavey: ) but wanted to thank everyone who contributes to this forum as I have already learned a lot from reading through it. A few weeks ago I knew next to nothing about diamonds but I am beginning to understand quite a bit, however I am still far from an expert so any help / advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

You need to call GOG and ask them about the inclusion. Since its a VS2 I would think its not visible but I'd make sure due
to its location.

Are you sure your GF likes Solasferas? Seems like people either like them or not. Most people consider them very busy.
Some people like all the faceting...some people dont.

putting the inclusion right in the middle is very common. I think it's so it doesn't reflect?

I am not sure that she likes them but I believe she will. Both her and I are mechanical engineers so I think what some might think of as 'busy' would be more 'intricate' or 'precise' from my perspective. I also like the idea that it is different and much more unique than what is considered the norm, since she is also unique in my eyes. As far as I know, she doesn't know much about diamonds at this point and has never had one so she wouldn't have the predisposition of what a diamond is 'supposed to look like' that some people might. With all of that said, I have still been going back and forth on which she would like better, since as you said, it seems that people either like them, or don't.

Can you take her to see some Leo rounds at Kays? Another extra-facet brand (not comparable to Solasfera in terms of design or consistency IMO, but you could get her gut reaction to the "busier look", esp since you are considering a sub-1ct stone that will already have smaller facets and a busier look than a larger stone)

Solasfera is a zillion times less "busy" than the princess cut, which is the second most popular cut.
So I guess business is not a bad thing.
The radiant is even more "busy".

DIfferent does not mean bad, just different from what everyone has gotten used to.

I have a 0.83 ct F VS1 Solasfera round on my finger now.

Superb light performance, that I rate equal in light return and overall beauty to Whiteflash's ACA round which I also have.

It looks like a gorgeous stone to me!
