It''s on hold for me... number 1131037 at JamesAllen... 1.16 cushion, H, SI1, $4170... could not get an ASET or other pictures, but here''s the IdealScope (I know, not as good with fancies) and the Sarin report... the JamesAllen website has the photo and GIA cert on line... I''m concerned by the darkness in the center of the photo. Help me learn please!

Sorry, having problems posting the sarin report because it''s too big, and I''m a noob at resizing. I have to run home to meet the pest control guy. Will try to get it done in an hour or so.

thanks.

How about a plain regular image?
Sometimes the simplest way is the right way...

Here is the Cushion... it is stragely dark at the center.

Sorry its so big, I can't resize at work! haha...shouldn't even be looking stuff up but I am my own boss so I will let myself off the hook!

ETA: Is the darkness from the putty they stick the diamond in so it stands up for the photo? Looks like that, but I don't know much about this stuff...

Could very well be just an obstruction or head shadow..., can you get more imges?

Hi all, I'm back. Sorry but JA says they have no more photos. Here is the Sarin data (and thanks Dachsie for posting the photo from their website. I couldn't even figure out that much.)

So I'm retyping the sarin report...

weight 1.163 ct
width 5.67 length 6.30 L/W 1.11

crown angle 43.5
crown height 16.8%
pavil angle 29.8
pavil depth 48.6%
table size 60.2%
total depth 67.6%

then right under that is the figure "3.83 mm" but it does not have a category-- I assume it's the total depth in mm?

Then next to all that is a picture of the side of the diamond. Yup, looks like it's saying total depth is 3.83mm/67.6%; total width is 5.67mm, crown height 16.8%, girdle looks to be 2.2%, pavilion depth 48.6%-- ok I'm not retyping it all, it's just a graphical representation of the numbers. However, there is another diagram showing top-down and bottom-up views which says "table off .8% culet off .9%"

The other sarin page in a mo'...

Second page:

CUSHION

weight 1.163 ct
width/length (mm) 5.67-6.30 L/W : 1.11
Total depth % 67.6 3.83 mm
Crown Angle 43.5 (42.4 - 44.6)
Crown Height % 16.8 (16.0 - 17.6)
Pavil Angle 29.8 (26.3 - 32.2)
Pavil Depth % 48.6 (48.0 - 49.1)
Model Angle 54.9 (54.5 - 55.5)
Table Size %60.2 (60.2 - 71.2)
3.41mm
Girdle Thickness 2.2% (2.0 - 2.4)

Then a crown graph. It has the top-down view, with numbers at noon, 3, 6 and 9 o''clock... two numbers at each position. I will recite them, top first then bottom, clockwise from noon:

noon: 16.4% 42.4 deg
3: 44.6 deg 17.6%
6: 44.1 deg 17.8%
9: 42.4 deg 16.0%
and in the corner it repeats table off .8%

Then the pavilion graph, same deal:

Noon: 47.3% 55.5 deg
1:30?: 30.2 deg
3: 54.6 deg 48.0%
4:30?: 30.3 deg
6: 54.5 deg 49.1%
7:30: 26.3 deg
9: 55.3 deg 49.1%
10:30: 32.2 deg

and then repeats the note that culet is off .9%.

Someone please help me understand-- are the variations in crown and pavilion angle, crown height and pavil depth normal? a problem?

I did ask for an ASET but I was told JA couldn''t provide it.. ??
Also the salesperson said this in their email:
"Our graduate gemologist verified the diamond to be 100% eye-clean and had nothing but positive things to say about this cushion. One of her comments stuck out to me. She said that the diamond had a very romantic appearance. Remember, I can still offer to conference you two on the phone to discuss the diamond if interested."

What does romantic mean? "chunky old fashioned facets, looks nice in candlelight" (cool!) or "euphemism for somewhat spit-like, good thing you''re a romantic at heart" (not cool!)

Thoughts? advice? pros and cons? I know every diamond in my price range that has my preferences (warm color, eyeclean, a carat or more) is going to be a combination of pluses and minuses. Lay it on me if you please.
