What do you think of Cartier's Entrelaces ring?

I haven't seen it IRL...I think it's a unique and interesting design, but personally I like the trinity ring much more.

It looks like the ends of the knot could catch on things. For me, the design isn't unique enough to justify the price -- very similar rings are available from many sources. This seems to me a case where you're paying for the name, but if it grabs you, then it's worth it. Take a look at Ed Levin's rings -- beautiful quality & some with the same mood, for less. http://www.edlevinjewelry.com/handmade-gold-rings-c-72.html

I like it.

Flight is not until 11pm tonight...plenty of time to obsess about jewellery!

What do you think of this white gold entrelaces ring from Cartier?

http://www.cartier.us/collections/jewelry/categories/rings/entrelaces-rings/b4088800-entrelaces-ring

Has anybody seen it in real life? What do you think of it as a pinky ring?

It just looks like really high-quality thick twisted wire...but I'm not into ultra modern, sleek-type looks such as that. Also, the ends looks like they were just chopped off rather than finished. But, like I said, it's not my style...Also, $1200ish...eck! Anything over $1K should have gemstones :cheeky:

Well, I wouldn't pay $1200 for it, but I like the design.

haha, that is basically how I feel too.

I like the interesting design but I think for something from Cartier, you may be better getting the trinity rolling ring. That's just my opinion --- the rolling ring is a classic, this is a new trend (to me...) and your tastes tend to run in the more classic direction.

Lots of time to think and fantasize while you travel the Atlantic!

Looks like a fancy twist tie.

I don't like it :(

I don't like it. The trinity is much nicer.

I've tried it on. It's beautiful! Very delicate. I love it in rose gold. However, it just doesn't go with other rings so I didn't get it. The bracelet looks almost too dainty but then it's beautiful on the wrist.

Me too, I think the Trinity ring is nicer, personally.

Not a fan....for that price tag I would perfer the trinity.

It looks like something that Etsy vendors can do equally well for 1/3 the price.

I think I made one of those out of a paper clip the other day at work. Didn't cost me anywhere near $1200...

Meh.

LOVE It - have it in yellow gold - wear as a pinky ring everyday. Get so many compliments!

overpriced.

This is a resurrected thread. Smith is no longer posting with us, hasn't for quite a while.

Not true, hon.

She's posting. Just using musical names. JaneSmith is one she was using for a while. She hasn't left. Just renamed herself.

It's still a resurrected thread. I rather suspect that Jane or whoever has made her decision by now. ;))

So by now it is probably even more overpriced.

Love it or hate it, this ring is cast into precisely the shape Carter intended. It doesn't have unfinished parts. Nobody on etsy could make it. Sometimes I think some of us hate or at least don't like "brands" and it's almost a reverse bias. I own a Cartier ring. The design is unique. The quality is superlative. I doubt the quality of this ring is any different.

I'm surprising myself. I quite like the ring.

My first thought was that the ends could snag on clothes pretty easily. It also doesn't look complete, to me. So I guess I'd say it's just okay. I'd rather have a trinity band.

Hi danny, so nice to see you posting! :wavey: Hope all is well!

Yeah, I'm with you…sometimes there's really nothing quite like the real deal.

I love Cartier, just not this one.
