Table 58.0
1.46 carat
J
VS1
Cut - Very Good
Polish Excellent
Symmetry Very Good
Fluores - Medium Blue
Crown Angle - 37.5
Pav Angle - 40.8
Very small Culet
thin to slightly thick girdle

Is this a great stone for the price?

I want to be between 1.3c and 1.5c but don''t want to spend over $7k. Am I on the right track?

The angles are a bit off the beaten track. Not the best of cuts from what the HCA is predicting, scoring at 3.5, best to go below 2.

Welcome!

I would really need an Idealscope or ASET image for this diamond, this will show whether there is any light leakage from this angle combo. It is a bit deep also and is facing up small for the weight, do you have any others in mind?

I really appreciate it. I have looked at jamesallen.com. I love how they show you an image of the diamond on the site. I didn''t know you get a discount through pricescope.com - that is great!!

I appreciate your help. I will send back any more that I am considering for opinions.

Alright - I used the cut advisor on this next one... it scored a 0.8
http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/I-VS2-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1226654.asp

It is an Ideal cut GIA
1.46c
I, VS2
Depth 61.6
Table 55.0
Medium to thick Girdle (is this bad?)
No culet or fluoresence
7.26 x 7.31 x 4.49
32.5 crown angle
41 pav angle
It looks ok but the crown angle could be a bit steeper for my preference - around 34- 34.5 degrees with that pavilion angle. The diamond is facing up a bit small also. With the girdle, thin to medium, thin to slightly thick, slightly thick etc are desirable, thick can waste weight but it depends on how much of the girdle is affected, the vendor should be able to tell you. More info on girdles below. I would see what else is out there.

Looks good from the numbers but the image is a bit off, like some leakage, maybe just the camera set-up, but definitely request for an IS.

The thick girdle can hide some weight making the diamond slightly smaller for it's weight.
