Well, I do love a nice bottle of champagne but they tend to be consumed as quickly as I "collect" them so I don't think it counts![]()
So can I have a whinge.
I used to love browsing Antique stores, here in Sydney we even had like Malls where 50 or more small stall holders would have cabinets of goodies in the one building. It was such an enjoyable way to spend a rainy afternoon. There was South Dowling Street, a couple along Parramatta road near Camperdown, a few nice ones in the Eastern Suburbs and even two in Mosman.
Sadly, all gone.
Dont young people like or appreciate antiques anymore?
Cool fish, I have a couple carved out of gems that I bought in Japan, however they are in boxes, nowhere to display them really.
a lot of them like minimiliastic dacor
they only see clutter and dust collectors and old stuff
they buy stuff from Akea (Or much worse) and no not know to appreate quality or that quality lasts
or that in past generations, one saved up to buy something nice
but think about how nice it feels in your mouth when you eat or drink off fine china, nice cutlery or drink from a nice crystal glass
they dont care
you can buy a nice English fine bone china from $5 off trade me
im just glad we have lovelly ladies like @mellowyellowgirl in our mists
it just makes me so sad thinking about them flogging off all (great) nanna's nice stuff dear old Nan kept for good,
if i could go back in time id tell all the nannas to just use it and enjoy it, but that's not how that generation was brought up
most of my royal cups and saucers have never been used, just kept as souveners i guess
i just brought this 8" piece of genuine Spanish Llardro for $20

i used to buy quite a bit of llardro 20 years ago, although not sure about this piece but i was buying pieces that cost hundrads of dollars
i used to buy it from the jewlers, she would give me the catalgue to take home
Ooh! Love the Lladro!
I only have a little goose that I found at an estate sale.
I'd love to have a figurine like yours! With kitties! OMG
So yummy!
Do you make Sculpey jewelry?
(I bet you do!)
Skin care products. I've been using the same line for over 25 years and have a large arsenal of the products I use. Last time I got on the scale I weighed myself and then weighed myself holding my bag of loot--it weighed approx. 7 pounds.
I SWEAR I'M NOT A SHILL!
Oh, do tell! What products can’t you live without?
I'd like a piece of this action. Let me get this straight: all I have to do is get seven friends to sign up...
No, no no no. Not at all. I have no skin in this game.at all
No, I'm just kidding! I'm a little brother and always will be. Or so my sibs tell me.
I used to collect mid-century pottery such as Hall, Lu-Ray Pastels, Russel Wright. I've gotten rid of most of it and boxed the Lu-Ray all up (my daughter won't let me get rid of this stuff). Here is what I have left of the Hall. I kept mainly the red and cobalt of a particular pattern, but there are other cobalt pieces in there and a few that are not blue on the bottom shelf of the last pic.
