First time poster who is wondering if anyone here possess any knowledge as to what this pendants history might be?

I have only been able to find out that it has something to do with jewelery made using butterfly wings?

I couldn't find this exact example except through Pinterest, but it appears to be a series of sulfide figures on morpho butterfly wing, set in sterling silver, by Thomas Mott. 1920s-1930s. Here's a different one: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1217825294/deco-butterfly-wing-sulphide-intaglio
