What bugs me about Tiffanys.

The last thing in the world that I would want, is for someone to say, "Oh, you got that at Tiffanys, I got mine there too! Look, we have the same ring, necklace, paperweight, etc."

I don''t understand the appeal of having something that everyone else can have. I think it''s so much cooler to say, "look at the fruit of all of my hard research. Look what I had built to my specifications that no one else has."

That is just my opinion. And, please , don''t take it personally, especially becuase it''s a double standard with me - for instance, I love Gucci hand bags... Seee?

So now the conversation goes like this, "Oh your boyfriend got you a Tiffany setting? My boyfriend got a Tiffany setting for me too!" Since the ring was a total surprise, I did not have a say in selecting the stone or setting.

Diamondgeezer, I think the genuine Tiffany setting is definitely a notch above what I have. Something about the real thing makes it look so much prettier. The platinum, for instance, seems to be more brilliant and complements the diamond. Then again, this perception might all be in my head!!! But in the end, it''s the diamond and most importantly, my wonderful fiance who saved to buy me that diamond, that captivates me!

oh no1 You misunderstand! I LOVE the tiffany style setting!! I meant the "typical" tiffany items, like that lima bean necklace, etc. The tifany setting doesn''t at all make me think "tiffany" it just makes me think sssolitaire, and that''s beautiful to me!!

I''m sorry if that''s how you took it - I THINK ALL SOLITAiRES ARE LOVELY!!
