What brings you joy these days?

Her name is Pau short for Pauline. She got diagnosed with heart failure before the lockdown and is on meds. Breaks my heart to see her getting old before my eyes when I still consider her my baby. I carry her up and down the stairs so that she won’t strain her heart.

Oh no. I am so sorry. She is lovely and there is nothing like a Chow for me. Mine is 13 with cataracts, joints issues, and not so good hearing but he is my love.

Omg!!!!! Darling!!!!!!! :kiss2::kiss2::kiss2:

I think I'm much more an oldie person despite getting very clucky about puppies.

Puppies are exciting and thrilling but it's when they get to old age that they really have a firm paw on my heart.

This is so true. Can’t imagine life without her. What even makes her more special to me is that she was a gift from my father who had already passed.

Oh sorry to hear about the health issues. I’m saddened how they age before our eyes. But babies in our hearts.

I love this thread! Thanks for starting it, Missy! Things that are bringing me joy:

- Just getting to be with my family: I love them more than life itself. :kiss2:

- Slow and simple living: I like not having to rush around all day, driving here and there constantly. Now, it's all about the basics - family, food, exercise, rest (and work/school for my kids and DH). I'm aware that slow living is a privilege and I'm *very* lucky to be able to experience it in the age of coronavirus.

- My kids' relationship with each other: They're very close and get along great, especially for teens. I've enjoyed having all this time to really observe their dynamics. When I was their age, my siblings and I used to have nothing but knockdown drag-out brawls...I wish I had what they have! (fortunately, we're close now and no longer fist-fight )

- My husband: This extra togetherness is proving what I already knew...we're highly compatible BFFs. He's super cute and makes me laugh every day. I heart him.

- Our dog: He's our family clown and love-bug. I love to bury my face in his fur, inhale deeply, and cuddle the heck out of him. (I used to be able to do this with my kids but they won't let me near them anymore. Plus they don't smell so good anymore )

- Sunny days: I'm an overcast/foggy weather kind of person and usually avoid warm weather at all costs. I'm generally happier when it's cloudy and cool out....it makes me feel cozy and content. That's why I'm surprised that sunny days have been bringing me joy recently. Maybe my body is craving vitamin D!

- A clean house: I deep clean the house every Thursday and feel so much satisfaction afterwards. The only problem is the days whizz by FAST and before I know it, it's time to bust out the cleaning supplies again.

- Morning cup of coffee: So comforting and yummy

- Daily text chats with my girlfriends: We're keeping each other sane. I miss them.

- Music: I love to listen to it and play it. It transports me to another place.

- Books: I really should be reading more, but for the times that I do, I feel at peace.

- Ice cream and other sweets: Technically a no-no for my wannabe clean lifestyle, but dessert brings me too much joy!

- Online stuff: Browsing through Pricescope, Instagram (antique jewels!), Etsy, Ruby Lane, eBay, and 1st Dibs is one of my fave things to do online. Even though I can't buy anything, it's still super fun to look and dream. I also adore my home design game -- it reinforces my addiction to my phone, which isn't great, but it's a lot of fun.

- Relaxing in front of the TV every evening: We do this after dinner has been cleaned up, we're all in our jammies with teeth brushed, and there's nothing left to do except to relax and enjoy some brainless entertainment.

This was a joy to read Kristy! I find joy in a lot of things you do and I'm also inspired by your cleaning and teeth brushed tv watching at night.

We did figure out which jogging stroller to get now that DH is a "runner" so that felt like a major accomplishment  I do LOVE the researching and planning part. I wish our pregnancy/parenting boards were still as active as they were 5 years ago!

Wow I never could crack this one. I tried running with a bugaboo -- but I have a slightly more substantive one and it is moderately heavy and has a lot of momentum (if you give it some momentum it'll err start running away on its own hehe. Ofcourse this isn't great for turning corners or semi crowded urban footpaths). I tried running with a britax travel pram but the handle was at the wrong hight and I hurt my back and knees so bad I hobbled for a week.

Can I ask what actually I should have bought?

This almost every night.

Beautiful. One of the first things I want to do when we go back to our beach house is enjoy a cozy fire outside in our backyard fire pit. And I want our friends to join us (when it is safe) so we can toast to health and happiness.

Please do! After research we're looking at the Thule Urban Glide 2 as the main contender.

See this guilty sock snatcher? See how proud she is of herself? This dog smiles about everything. She’s a party girl. She doesn’t even bark. She sort of runs around and paws at my leg when someone is at the door. She brings nothing but joy to our home. This is Gracie.

This makes me want to toast the marshmallow and eat it with chocolate and graham crackers.

Oh my goodness I LOVE your Gracie!
We have a Gracie too. But she is a loud purrer so not that quiet. And very vocal too in other ways.

I love your Gracie too! She’s beautiful! I love vocal kitties. Now that our cat has gotten a bit older, she’s found her voice. This is Maggie.

Here’s my chihuahua mix biting off more than she can chew. This is Honey. She’s is my therapy dog. She gives snuggles whenever they’re needed.

Oh my  so much love and sweetness and adorableness. PS and PSers are such a wonderful bunch of people...the love of bling, animals and so big hearted. Really makes getting through a challenging time a bit more bearable and sweeter. Thank you for sharing your furry crew with us @House Cat

Would love to know how it works out for you guys :). I don't need one right now (mostly missed that boat whoops!). But am thinking number 2 may come along at some stage and I used to love to run -- it felt like flying so I am always wistful about starting again (despite the kiddo and several sports injuries which were all good reasons for stopping. I found running addictive, I actually really miss it.).

I have realized I never answered this thread. The answer is easy though -- I have lots of videos on my phone mostly of my daughter screaming in delight over something or of her playing with various family members. They're the most calming thing to flick through.
