I love the amount of time we are spending together as a family, especially since I have teens. My furbaby Noah is my constant companion/coworker now that I'm working from home. My daughter and I are doing a lot of yoga and baking together. My son and I are watching a lot of TV shows together, and the whole family (4 humans and dog) are taking walks every other day for fresh air, and we all clean the house together every weekend now that the cleaning ladies cannot come. All these everyday things bring me joy.
I’m loving the quietness. With the “stay at home” mantra there are very few cars about. So you can hear the birds and insects. Walking the dog is permitted, DD and I do the afternoon shift. We walk the local neighborhood. Kids have been drawing hopscotch onto the footpath and I make a point of participating in their game. I love how they squeal with delight watching me, an old lady doing their hopscotch, from behind their front fence.
Sadly with all this “stay at home” there has been an increase in domestic violence / need for woman and children to relocate. There is a Facebook group where people post up their urgent needs. I’m pleased I’m such a hoarder of things, be prepared is my motto So I’ve been able to donate towels, bed linen, blankets, toaster, kettle, small tv, a game console and a microwave!
It also makes me reflect upon and be thankful for my own good fortune. That I am safe, stable and loved in my home, that I am able to be a hoarder and that I have my good health and happiness.
For me anyway, giving things away makes me very happy.

@Jimmianne those buildings near the water look straight out of a fairy tale!

Pumpkin at the beach last weekend
On the worst days when nothing else seemed to be going right and I didn't have the energy for anything, watching my favorite tree in our yard has always made me smile. I watched it change color and lose its leaves while waiting for surgery. I watched the bare branches covered in Frost and snow as I recovered from surgery. Now, I have watched it bud and flower while dealing with being sick. It starts with deeper colored buds and slowly opens to these beautiful pink blossoms. I am enjoying them as they change every day I can as I know the next thing I watch will be the petals caught in the wind as they swirl and float to the ground.

This sounds nice! Funny the old adage goes "absence makes the heart grow fonder" but we are finding in these difficult times our bonds are our renewed strength. New normal is good!!!
