What *bling* would you bribe yourself with?!

I would suggest a full Cartier love bracelet if your lifestyle allows. It’s co an lines wont scratch the baby and you can just leave it on without even thinking about it. I have the cuff because I run a lot and can’t stand the wrist banging. Since it’s on your wrist you’ll be able to appreciate it yourself all the time. If you’re the type to not want to change your jewelry all the time it is a great option. Yeah take it easy going back. Slower paced body sculpting classes, yoga or barre classes are good. When I feel the need to take it easy on my joints I do Bar Method.

I’d second (or third?) the idea of a solitaire pendant. But I’d also consider a special signed piece such as a VCA Alhambra bracelet/pendant in that range... or maybe a Tiffany necklace.

Babies/toddlers do like to grab, but we humans have this nifty reflex to protect the head, so I’m confident in your ability to get to your necklace before baby can do too much damage. :lol-2:

Uhhh, don't count on this, ask my mom's pearl necklace... that was me as a toddler :-o:-o:-o

Obviously this is solely based on my own experiences, but babys and toddlers grab everything shiny (I guess mine inherited the PS gene :lol ) and esp. while feeding, so they are right on target fairly often...

ditto this. i never wore necklaces when the kids were little. theyd inevitably grab it when nursing or try and rip it off as toddlers when holding them. lol! dangly earrings are super duper dangerous too. Stick with studs or ring or bracelet. i LOVE the bracelet idea!

I'm currently getting a bangle made with 25 pointers (13 stones total, covering only the top of the wrist) for around that price, so it might be something to consider?:P2

Oh, that sounds wonderful - please make a thread when you get it. I am toying a similar idea myself and would love to see examples

@LadyMCh - Being a mom of two I totally support idea of a bangle. In my case, it is the only piece of jewelry surviving my toddlers curious finger undamaged and with hardly any sticky fingerprints

congrats on your baby!

I LOVE the look of eternities, hate actually wearing them, lol. I wash my hands so often every day that it just feels wet under my finger all day. So, I'd vote for a pendant. Plus, if you lose weight, you can't resize an eternity :)

Oh, no about that pearl necklace!!:cry2: I work as a therapist with babies and toddlers and haven’t had an issue with them yanking on my necklace that I wear daily. I do put my hand over theirs so that they don’t pull. I cringe when I see the ladies wear dangly earrings, though!

I’d still want a diamond pendant, even if I didn’t wear it 24/7 with a toddler at home!

Hi @Dizzie here are a few crappy iphone pics for your reference!

How about the Van Cleef and Arpels Vintage Alhambra 5 motif bracelet? It's a classic and elegant look.

Congratulations on your baby!
Enjoy the precious first time of bonding!
@hmr_mama has very wisely evoked the most important points.
As a mom of five I get the most wear out of bangles and bracelets, however.
What about a Cartier love bracelet ( name is so fitting, too!)?
I've been wearing a dbty bracelet for 4 years without taking it off (except for cleaning) now w/out a problem. I have 5 small kids, so it's definitely mom-approved.
Or a tennis bracelet? At around 5k you could get a very nice size. PS falls into two camps on those, though: some prefer them for dressier occasions only, but some wear their gorgeous pieces 24/7 - I'd be in the latter camp. With young kids any item is basically a no go for me if I have to worry about it/ think about putting it on on the mornings.
This!!

I agree with all of this! Bracelets/bangles have been the easiest for me to wear with kids. I (just? Lol) had another baby (8.5 months now) and honestly my bangles never come off. My fingers have been all over the place and I have lost quite a bit of $$$ because of it buying and selling and buying again. So I have decided to wait to buy more rings unless they can be sized.

I think out of all my bracelets my Cartier Loves have been easiest with baby. My Tiffany gold beads are easy too since she can’t really get her fingers in there to pull. I love my new OEC norah band so much I am actually considering a dbty bracelet with OECs. People say it’s a a fragile bracelet but everyone I know wears it 24/7 without problems. I do wear one necklace that never comes off and she yanks and bites on it a lot. I cringe every time and hope it doesn’t break but still wear it.

So yeah. My suggestion is a bangle or bracelet of some sort. Do you like Cartier/VCA/TIffany? They all have their iconic bracelets. It’s a fun experience to go into the boutiques to purchase. So that could also make it extra fun and a special outing vs a box just showing up on your steps. I received both my loves before the birth. Lol. As a mother’s day gift and bday gift. My dh and SA really made it a special day. I’ll never forget it.

Anyway whew that was long. Rambling as it is 3:30am and my baby is up with a cold. Ahhh motherhood. The most beautiful yet challenging experience of my life.

I know I didn't wear much for the first two years due to all of the grabbing, no earrings, necklaces, and I sold my eternity! I think the safest would be a fixed pendant (so at least if they break it the diamond won't fall off) with a sturdier than normal chain. I LOVE the Astrid from CVB! Something with real presence.

A little bribe is necessary! In addition to feeling unmotivated because I'm so out of shape, i also don't want to be apart from the baby in my freetime!

I have beach body on demand. I LOVE it! You an work out right in your house!

I admit that I didn't read al the responses, bc I'm in a time crunch; however, did you say the size of your stones for an eternity? I turned my 7-stone into eternity and LOVE it, but I think they're 7-10 pts each. Comfortable - u-prong! Wash my hands all day - no issues. I wear a pendant, but babies will grab your necklace. My little guy tuned around in church many moons ago and in a nanosecond had broken my pearl necklace and I had to chase around for them on the floor. I LOVE my eternity bracelet. IDJ could definitely get you something for your budget that would be super nice. Mine is from IDJ - love it. I guess a baby can pull your bracelet too, but not as easily. Did you say if you have studs already?

This is so lovely and what a presence on hand!!!! Please start a thread for it. I would love to see it in detail!!!!

Thanks @Dizzie! Will definitely start a new thread when I get around to pestering DH for proper DSLR photos.

Hi Angeljosephy could you please provide specs for the ring and the bracelet please...

Hi @Rpb! My ring is a 1.52 D VVS2 MRB centre with 0.3 ctw sidestones (3 pointers, G VVS, 5 down each side for a total of 10). My bangle is 3.33 ctw, 25-26 pointers, F-G VS2 (13 stones total, covering only the top of the wrist). Hope that helps!:)

Thanks @angeljosephy please do start a thread... loving them all..:loopy:
