What band for this ring?

My ring needs a friend. Now that I have my replacement ering in what may be a temp setting, but one I love, it needs a wedding band. I feel weird with just the engagement ring. After all I've been married since 1979 :naughty:
I can get the matching Gabriel band, but the diamonds are soooo tiny I'd like a bit more bling. I tried on a curved engraved band with 2pters half way round in a Dunkins Diamonds store that looked good but I did not want to pay 1000. Bucks for that!!!

One thought is the BGD marquise/ round band That I would spend the money on!!

Another thought is this. http://www.ebay.com/itm/380431575191?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_1951wt_951

Can't post actual pics of my ring because I'm on an iPad, but it is a pear in this setting.

Any thoughts?

Well, I love the matching band, but if you don't want that, you'll have to be very careful. The heights of the bands will need to be the same and the milgrain will need to be similar, in my opinion. My advice would be to find another Gabriel band that is similar but a little wider than that one. That is such a pretty e-ring setting!

I love that setting and +1 on loving the matching band!

I would love to see pictures of your ring! I love that setting! I think the BGD with milgrain would be pretty as long
as the height of the bands matched up. I also like the one that matches the ring but if you ever
decide to change settings the BGD may be more versatile.

Thanks for the compliments and advice.

And I do like the matching band.
Actually the ultimate goal may be to set it with BGD in a setting similar to Lesley's birthday ring! So no band needed! But I do want a band at this point.

I also very much like the matching band - but if you are determined to go with something else, I echo diamondseeker2006's suggestions to check band height and milgrain finish to ensure the band works with your e-ring.

While pretty, I do not think that BGD band will best complement your e-ring - it seems "off" in shape and proportion as compared with your e-ring. And the eBay option you linked to looks to be a completely different style and with a band height much higher than your e-ring.

I wonder if the Lauren Klein hex band shown in this PS thread might suit your purposes? https://www.pricescope.com/communit...gonal-eternity-ring-to-match-my-bev-k.177302/ - It seems in keeping with your ring's style but not matchy-matchy, very reasonably priced, and the poster says:

"The diamonds are very white and sparkly and the size is perfect (5.5). So far, everyone at work has been impressed by it, especially at the price point. There is one "Bead" between each hex and there are two diamonds inside each hex, bead set. It definitely looks vintage-y and beautiful. Not 100% perfect on the workmanship (there's a half hex at the bottom since my size is a half size - and it's a little wonky) - but very nice. Not Bev K quality upon close inspection (closer than 6"), but from 6-12" away definitely looks like it."

Marymm... I agree about the eBay band being a wrong choice but it is very pretty and I have it my saved for about 6 months now! The Lauren K rings look like a good option. Thanks.

That ring that marymm pointed out is lovely and would really compliment your setting!

I really like the matching band!

I love the BGD marquise/RB setting and the eBay one... but I'd vote for the matching one to your setting. It isn't horrendously expensive, and if you do reset the temp setting you have the pear in now, to something like Lesley's ring, you could sell both rings as a complete wedding set. There is that convenience factor (someone buying a set), if reselling is an option!

I like the matching band too.

As the owner of the Lauren Klein band mentioned :), I'm piping up to say if the matching band doesn't have the bling factor you want - the Lauren K will not have more bling. It's also super low and delicate, and I feel like your ring needs an equal match.

I do like the matching band but if you want bigger diamonds, it'll be hard to find a match. Trying on rings is your best bet, it's hard to tell what will look good with your ring (which is beautiful, btw!).

Thanks all for your input. I think I am going with the matching band. It is very pretty and if the stones sparkle like the ones in the ering it will be very nice. I guess I will save the amazing bling for the reset down the road. I like the idea of putting a colored stone in this setting when I do reset. The eBay ring is still calling me though, perhaps as a RHR or when I don't wear my pear.
I will post her when she's mine!

I think that is a wise decison, Elisa! Can't wait to see the set complete!

Yeah!! that will look wonderful together. Not that I'm all about the matchy/matchy, but I think if this is going to be temporary, it did suit your setting well (duh! "captain Obvious" has spoken...!) and if you do decide to resell it, some people like the convenience of a one shot purchase.

However, if you put a coloured stone in there instead... you'll have a nice stacker to start a set from !!! Ah... how amazing to be able to rationalize new rings!! :D

Great choice! I love the matching band, which is still not too matchy IMO. And per the norm in PS land, the best decision is to get both rings  Can't wait to see your upcoming blings!

Just an update.... Vicki called from GOG, the band will be delivered to work tomorrow! Will post pics when I can!!!
