What aspects make these halos so pretty?

Hi all,
Celebrating 25 years and am thinking about resetting my 1 ct pear e-ring with a custom halo design. I will be really honest - I think I'd love the added finger coverage that a halo provides and I've got to admit that I like the bling! I've been looking at Lauren B, SK, VC and DK rings, but I stumbled across this Instagram video and really love the way these halos look.

Can anyone with an expert eye tell me what design features make these halos give off so much light and look seamless with the center stone, almost like a unified piece? TIA!

I'm not an expert, but I prefer the look of the one on the left. It's a lower profile than the one on the right, and the diamonds in the halo are obviously very good quality, and there's no gap between the pear and the halo, making it blend.

I think part of why they blend so well is because of the cuts of the center diamonds - they are all cuts with smaller sparkles than an RB or antique cut which are the ones most commonly seen on PS. The smaller sparkles blend with the size of sparkle coming from the halo diamonds (which are also a little larger than you would find on a typical PS halo) so they look more unified.

Also the video is under lighting that makes diamonds look their sparkliest, so that certainly helps.

In terms of the construction of the halos themselves - appears to be nothing special. If you're happy with that you can get a stock setting from pretty much any major brand as long as it is sized to fit your diamond - no need to spend the money on a pricey hand-forged setting.

+1 distracts. I snagged some stills from the same vendors instagram. I agree with distracts, they look like a standard cast halo. Small melee relative to the main stone that tilts away from the stone (rather than being flat; huge improvement over many). No airline. It also looks like the halo is raised underneath to allow for a wedding band to fit.

I didn't even notice that the halos tilted away from the stone - they looked flat to me? Maybe they're just tilted a tiny bit.

Thanks all. One of the things that I don't care for in some halos is when the individual melee stand out and catch the eye. I loved the look of these but perhaps hats mostly due to the lighting.
1. Is it worth it to have a custom setting done for only a 1 ct center stone?
2. Are there any design attributes I should absolutely look for/request in a halo to obtain a unified look? My center stone is not antique cut.

Thanks!

IMG_1719.jpg Are you looking for something where the halo and side stones are more protected so they don't snag on anything?

Thanks for the link to these settings. I will take a look around! I wonder, though, if there will be a gap between the halo and the center stone if it is not custom??

That particular company custom make the mount to fit your stone so there won't be any gap. They're currently making me a ring, and the mount is being custom made to fit the diamond I've chosen.

How much did you want to spend on a new setting? That one starts at $1199 for 14k w/g with .50 F/G VS1/2 diamonds in the mount.

Wow, that's great. I'd love to see pics of the ring you're working on! Have you sent them your center stone already?

I bought the stone through them. It was for sale through a least one other vendor (I checked the GIA number) and they were quite a bit cheaper! I'll post a photo when it's ready. At the moment it's in the casting process, but I've gone for a marquise shaped diamond, I was very tempted by a pear, because I love those too.
