Hi there,
Thinking of purchasing this heart Ruby diamond ring.
It holds a 2.11 Carat No-Heat Mozambique Ruby, 1.23 Carat Diamonds, 5.81 Grams 18K Gold Ring. $3650 usd. Does this seem a fair price? It looks like a nice colour.
Thanks
Wen

Guessing a fair price is not possible without knowing which gem lab, if any, graded it with the information you posted.
Some labs are very reputable, some not.
Then, maybe the ruby never went to any gem lab, and the info you posted is just what the seller wants you to believe.

Please post a copy of the lab report so we can verify its authenticity.

Here is the certificate. Tell me your thoughts. I can see that it is shallow cut.

You're good. Yeah, it's flat as a pancake, but if that doesn't bother you visually, there's no reason to worry about it.

I don’t notice the flatness in the setting. Is it a major turn off?

Don't ask me, I can't stand windows.

Ha ha in the videos there’s no window showing probably due to inclusions. What would you normally pay for something such as this taking into account that it’s shallow?

Have you received the ring or anymore videos?

I’d just be a tad hesitant in regards to what it actually looks like.

Price seems ok based on a few searches. The setting is lovely! All the gold and diamonds.

I tend to enjoy non perfect stones myself (in my case it’s always because of the pursuit of size) I would say it’s fair for what it is as long as you’re happy with it.

You’d probably have trouble reselling it unless you find someone with the same outlook regarding gems. I certainly couldn’t sell any of my stuff but I never resell so I don’t need to consider that aspect of it.

...are you sure about that?

Price seems pretty decent. After all, the weight is there, so is the unheated status, and that is not an insignificant setting. It all boils down to how the ruby looks in real life. You know the general advice in these situations - ask to see more photos and videos to gain a better idea (assuming this is an online purchase, if you can see it in person, just take a closer look, and bring a loupe).
