Hello,

The last diamond I liked was bought before I had a chance. This time I was able to put the stone on hold :).

What do you all think about the diamond below? 2.01 Ct, H, SI2
https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-di...h-color-si2-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-4583787

My biggest question is whether it would be eye clean. I asked JA rep through the chat feature, and they thought it would be. When I zoom out to 2-3 x, I cannot see the inclusion on the table. How obvious would it be in real life?

HCA is 1.1. JA does not have any light performance images. They said if the stone is purchased, they could take the images before proceeding. Do you think the video and number look safe enough to proceed without an ASET or ideal scope images?

Thank you all for your help!

Hi Panther,
I don't think it will be visible at all. I currently have a an I1 that is eye clean (it was hard to find) and it looked a lot more included than that on JA. I wouldn't say I'm a diamond expert but I'm not a novice either. Some on here may say its a no go because of something in the center but my RHR has a feather in the center and I can't see it at all. You might want to see it in person for the clouds that are not shown. I've seen some duds that glow instead of sparkle because of clouds even though it was an SI1 with a low HCA score.

Thank you for the reassuring comment! I am pretty blind when it comes to inclusions. I looked at various SI1 and SI2s at a B&M store, and I cannot see anything even with a loupe!

Since I can’t see the stone in person, should I have JA gemologist check it out for clouds? What do you think of the light performance?

Hi Panther,

It looks like a potential winner! All you can do is ask one of the gemologists to see if it's eyeclean to YOUR specifications once they have it in hand and check as a cloud inclusion is a grade maker, that it's not impacting brilliance in any way. If these things check out it has huge potential, well done!

Thank you Lorelei! What do you think about the light performance? Is it safe enough to proceed without additional images (if confirmed to be eye clean), or should I request those images be taken after purchase?

Thank you!

Thank you!

It's my pleasure!

My advice is to get the images done after purchase before your return policy is up because I can see where this might be going, you'll always wonder!

Very good and ' safe' numbers but to be prudent, images are always best to make absolutely sure.

Thank you ! You are right, I’ll probably always wonder!

I know lol, it will bug you forevermore that you didn't get images when you had the chance!

I can relate to this. I had my diamond shipped asap from JA due to time constraints. I spent the next year wondering what its scope looked like until I eventually bought my own ASET and scratched that itch

Seems like a week is a long time to take some pictures! Oh well, will give me time to agonize about setting choice lol.

The pair of you are too funny! It's true though, look at it this way, you'll thank Gm and I eventually once you have your images, safe in the knowledge you chose well. There'll be no regrets....no lingering doubt of what might have been as you stare wistfully at the diamond....' Are you leaking somewhere like an errant tap or are you pinging all that lovely light right back at me....?'

You can smile and know the truth. Your diamond is kicken, to quote strm.
