Got up at the normal time, however, the clock went back an hour, so the house was cold as the heating had not kicked in.

Early breakfast, and I am waiting for the roast chicken thighs for the pets to cool down before I stripe them (the crispy skins are mine, all mine!).

Most likely to go back to bed for a snooze as per usual on a Sunday, before going out into town to walk the dog and pop into the pub for a quick drink, before going home to cook dinner.

A lazy Sunday as per usual.

DK :))

Oh wow, the clocks went back by you already? I don't think ours go back til next weekend. I woke at 2:30 AM and that was it for sleep for me. I feel like I am on a different time schedule than everyone else. It's challenging not being able to sleep. :/

Hope you enjoy a lazy Sunday @dk168

Just voted today!
We splurged & got chick-fil-a to go
& got cozy to watch unexplained mysteries on netflix.

I've been surfing Etsy all day trying to find a happy medium between quality, comfort, style, & price when it comes to handmade headbands.

Tonight hubs made salmon & we all scarfed it down & now I'm just enjoying my "me" time with a bit of icecream & a book....& PS of course!

Congrats on voting! We voted a few weeks ago by absentee ballot.

@TheGarnetGirl Oh my goodness, re headbands. Check out XOthebijoux on IG. She just got in some beautiful headbands IIRC. BRB let me see if I can find it. Might have been in her stories and that might have disappeared already.

Still in her stories. Go check it out.

I took a couple of screenshots for you @TheGarnetGirl
and you can contact Dolly and also see where she got hers in the last screen shot. HTH!

I'm playing chess online.

The lichess website has skill levels 1 through 8.
I must be at 3 because that's where I win half my games.
So, I've been practicing at level 4 to gradually up my game.

But tonight, just for ships and grins, I tried level 8. :-o
Of course I've lost every game, but have learned lots and lots I doubt I'd ever learn playin at level 4.

There must be some life lesson here.

Chess is great for an old rotting brain. ... at least that's what this old rotting brain tells me.
Now, where did I put my coke-bottle glasses ... and which forum is this, viagrachat or that diamond forum with all the hot & rich young sugar-mamas :Up_to_something:?

Uh Oh. I'm turning into DF. :eek2:

I am procrastinating. I need to start my day and here I am hanging out on PS. It is raining and cold so I am unmotivated to get the day started. It is comfy and cozy by the fire and I am still posting and reading and enjoying my coffee. But I must get moving. Time to vacuum. Sigh. See y'all later.

Kenny, we just started watching a good Netflix series last night called the Queen's Gambit. Perhaps you will enjoy it? It's about a chess prodigy and based on a wonderful book.

Laying in bed. I woke up this morning about 3:30am and couldn’t go back to sleep until 6:30 am. Then I woke up again at 9 am.
I opened a few Amazon boxes I received and put them away. Then painted a strip of wood I cut to cover this awkward open spot behind our oven wall and backsplash. See pic below. Picture with wood covering is not painted yet.
Previous owners did backsplash themselves and left this gap there. Either that or there was a wood cover but it fell behind the stove. I’m assuming it had the cover and fell back there bc I cut four pieces of wood to cover the area and two fell behind the stove! Plus I see nail holes. I think I may be able to retrieve it. I found a drawer underneath our ovens. I think if I pull it out I can retrieve it.
I don’t like our backsplash and eventually would like to change it. I’ve even picked out what I want, just clear subway tile and a pretty tile mosaic behind the stove area. But I also want to remove the overhead microwave oven and replace with a vent. So since I’m okay with my current backsplash I figure I would just cover the gap. Much more cost effective and less decision making.
I actually drove yesterday (I hate driving) to Home Depot for the wood (it’s just a piece of border or crown molding that I cut) and then to a B Moore retailer and bought a pint of Advance Chantilly Lace. It’s the color they used to paint the cabinets and I touched up spots that were chipped off.
Just an FYI in case you ever decide to paint your kitchen cabinets- BM Advance is supposed to be the best type of paint for cabinets. It’s self leveling so supposedly leaves no brush strokes or bubbles. It also doesn’t need a top coat. I’ve been to homes where the paint job on the cabinets was horrible. You could see every brush stroke and some even had bubbles.
Our cabinets are painted but the company did a remarkable job. The previous owners used a company called Nhance and they use BM Advance exclusively and spray paint it on then use UV light to cure it. They charge a lot for it. They charged previous owners $7250 which I thought was very pricey. I previously had an estimate in my old house which had a lot more cabinets (Butlers pantry and laundry area had cabinets) and it was only $2050.
If I didn’t find the receipt from the previous owners, I would have thought these cabinets were originally white. They were originally cherry.
Anyway, I’m sorry I’m rambling. I guess I should get up and do something. I just feel so tired but not sleepy. A0F02D43-52AA-4649-9136-50CB09F50965.jpeg 33B36F35-257F-4EC3-ABF2-FABB12B70B17.png 5F4ECF83-D5B7-41D7-A51C-BFFDD2CE4290.jpeg 83885AEA-E723-4959-B1FF-53C5DE1CC6D8.jpeg

So I just baked Brussel sprouts in the oven and have to throw one tray (half of what I made) away. Doesn’t smell or taste right. I should have thrown it away before I washed and cooked them because it smelled funny but I was hopeful. The eternal optimist. At least it’s not a big deal.

I am looking up houses for sale in Connecticut because one of my friends is looking to move. Wow, you really get a lot for your money there! And there's so much amazing architecture. I'm jealous!

Finishing up a mini-prep (ordering food/medications/getting a little cash out/filling up the car) so we won’t have to run errands for awhile after Nov. 3rd.

Looking through the new Fall episodes of some of my favorite shows on Hulu (the Connors, This is Us, etc.).

hate it when that happens @missy

Right now I'm staring at the screen. I should be working. I'm tired I don't want to work. My kettle is boiling over...I need a day off I'm sure.

HI:

Just put scalloped potatoes in the oven and styled my hair like "Beth Harmon" (Queens Gambit) last episode. Turned out pretty well! LOL

I am chopping vegetables. I will have several nice little frozen bags of soup or stew starter: Onion, garlic, celery, jalapeno, carrots, green bell pepper and tomato. I feel happier about this than is normal.
