What are excellent settings for a loose diamond?

Hey Everyone,

Now that my gf and I talked about brands last night, I do not need to get a Tiffiany''s. I was wondering what are some good settings for a diamond. My issue is that if I''m not going to get a tiffiany''s, I don''t want it to look like a knockoff. That''s one of the reasons I think I might just get the diamond on-line, but get the setting somewhere esle. Does anyone know where I could get a really good setting that isn''t an attempt to clone a Tiffiany setting? I really liked some mikimoto setting I saw on their site, but they only sell the rings in Japan

. I just want a simple solitare setting so I can put a good .90-.65 diamond on it.

Anyone also know of places in California or Arizona that could custom make a setting for a diamond? How much would a custom setting cost in Platinum.

There are gadzillions of settings out there of every shape and form. If you're looking for something simple but substantial you certainly don't need to go the custom route. Take a look at the "Show me the Ring" area to start getting some ideas. Most likely, you'll be able to order get your setting and your diamond at the same online store.
