What’s your holiday tradition?

i brought the pavalova today
i can make them quite sucessfully but my oven is on the blink
going to make the cheesecake and freeze it
also brought brandy snaps

I like to make cute or funny Christmas cards usually involving my kids and dogs. Now, it is the grandchild and dogs in A Christmas Story themed card. Grandson was dressed as Ralphie in the pink bunny suit, granddog was a Bumpus hound ( neighbor dog who steals the turkey ), my dog is the Fragile lamp and my grand cat was photoshopped into Randy in the snowsuit. I also bake lots of cookies. Biggest year was 100 dozen which is too much. It literally took 2 whole weeks. I used to give a box to each of my husband’s employees but now there is almost 50 so now it’s just 2 big trays brought in.

I absolutely love this. Where did you find such a lovely tree? Also I’m totally envisioning a chicken at the top of your tree! Is that too silly? Lol

Well, I never thought of a chicken....maybe I'll poke around and see what I can find. As far as the tree, I think I just googled "lighted twig trees" and found it. There are many different kinds. Mine is just about 4 feet tall per the box (but doesn't look that tall to me).

I go to see The Nutcracker ballet every Christmas eve - so- Christmas eve feels more like Christmas day to me than the actual Christmas day does.

Our traditions are many. We try to get to church every Christmas Day and if not, then on Christmas Eve.

We read the Christmas story in the Bible every Christmas morning and thank God for the gift of his Son.

We listen to a lot of Christmas music - mostly old fashioned carols, but Frank is de rigeuer for looking at Christmas lights.

Egg nog.

Christmas cake.
