WF vs. IDJ for diamond studs

When and if my cluster ring sells, I will be getting some MRB diamond studs. I can spend up to $5000. I am looking for around 1.4 ctw 6-7 mm, H-J color, eye clean, ideal cut stones set in a 6 prong setting. Sparkly, sparkly, sparkly!

Would I get more bang for my buck at IDJ? I will never upgrade the stone size, as I have very small earlobes- so the WF upgrade policy won't be a deal-breaker for me.

What are your thoughts? I've never bought an ideal cut MRB before so I am happy to have all you experts to chime in!!!!!!!
 
I personally would go with IDJ because you would get larger stones and it seems you don't want to upgrade (which they would do anyway) - they can vet you a pair of top notch GIA XXX. My budget was very similar and I got stunning 1.6 ctw stones from them...you can take a look at my thread with pics, ASETs, etc (https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/idj-1-6-ctw-stud-upgrade.229748/). I did look into WF, but would only be able to get 1.3/1.4 ctw and it just wasn't worth it to me. Either way they will be stunning I'm sure! =)2
 
I just read through your thread. Your earrings are stunning!:love::love::love: I have a problem where sometimes earrings don't lay flat against my ears, if that makes any sense. Yours do. I will have to consider the same setting!
 
Thanks @soxfan! Yekutiel ordered me the standard 4 prong basket settings but I got jumbo backs, which helps with the drooping problem. He's great at picking beautiful stones and maximizing budgets!

Top cut and color would be my priorities. I would even consider WF expert selection. So whatever vendor gets me that is what I would go for.
 
I recently had WF make me a 3 stone trellis ring.. and 2 are ACA and one was Expert selection and I cant tell the difference. ACA is the best of the best of the best.. Expert selection is the best of the best.. really can't go wrong. I"ve never bought from IDJ but I would love too! :)
