Even earrings? I would never have thought of that. Other than my engagement ring, all other diamond jewelry I own was a gift from family or inherited. Even before PS, I would never assume that a pair of earrings or a necklace was from a MAN. Which shows you how different all our brains work, then.

Well, I think it's out of date to think that way, obviously. But I know my grandmother would never have dreamed of buying herself jewelry. It just wasn't done. So, the obverse of that, to many men still, is that jewelry signals a man behind it.
And yes, even diamond earrings!
For the record, I pay no attention to that tradition whatsoever, and will get my own jewelry...BUT, I still feel somewhat embarrassed when I do, if it's something significant.
That's why the right hand ring is so liberating, in more ways than one. So enjoy!
