Okay - so FI and I are on the official wedding band hunt now. I could use some PS help!

Originally, I really wanted a shared prong eternity band that I would wear on my right hand and my ering would stay on my left. This is still definitely an option.

Today we went browsing at a few stores, and when we were in Tiffany I tried the Novo band and it actually was a pretty great match!!

So, as I see it, this is the situation

Novo Band:

Pros: matches ering, people would ''know'' we were married, looks pretty nice!

Cons: It is tiny. I mean tiny. Together it is good but I don''t love it on its own.

1.7/1.8 tcw eternity band:

Pros: blingy! I''ve always wanted one - and this is a great chance to get it, looks great on its own

Cons: Isn''t a ''set'' and doesn''t necessarily have that ''married'' look to it.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I''m having a hard time deciding!!

Here is my ring:

Well, since your e-ring has diamond sidestones, I probably would be conservative and get the matching Novo band. I like the diamonds on the wedding band to match the side stones of the e-ring, and I'd probably get them soldered together because it drives me nuts when they separate or go different directions. Then, if you are worried about having a band to wear when you want to leave your diamonds safely in the jewelry box to do chores, etc., why not get a plain band for that?

That being said, my "set" is not a set at all, but my e-ring does not have side stones.

Your e-ring is gorgeous, BTW!!!

October2008bride,

Your ring is GORGEOUS and I think either of the options you presented would be lovely. Can you do both?

If not ... I''ve seen the Novo and agree that it is beautiful, however, something about the way you chose to word your post leads me to suspect you may be more drawn to the eternity band... maybe it could be b/c you said you didn''t love the Novo by itself? You also mentioned that you''ve always wanted an eternity band .. could now be the time?

Other than what you shared, have you felt particularly drawn to one over the other? If not, maybe if you keep looking you will find something you love entirely or you will somehow find yourself back to square one and be better able to make a decision with which you are comfortable?

Hi October!

As you know, I have the Novo band, and I love it! Its just the prettiest, sparkliest little band. I do agree its tiny, but I think it will look so pretty with your e-ring on the same hand. I always knew I wanted to wear both my rings together, but I figured I would end up wearing them separate since my e-ring would not sit even remotely flush with any kind of w-band....That is, until I found the Novo. I get so many compliments on it...it looks great with my e-ring...There is still a little gap, but I have actually grown to like it.

I think you will want to wear your rings together, so I would go ahead and get the Novo band. Then for your first anniversary or whatever, you can get an eternity band, and you can always stack the 2 rings together on days when you dont feel like wearing your e-ring you know? Can you tell that is what I plan on doing-LOL!!!

Both. Why choose?

I went to bed without reading the replies, and the last thing I thought about before drifting off was "if only FI would be intuitive enough to surprise me on the wedding day with the Novo" because then I could have both!

I think in an ideal world, I would have both. The little sparkly ring to wear with my ering, and the blingy eternity band on my right hand.

However, I don''t think FI would like that idea - he is not a jewellery fiend like me and says I have to choose.

Hmm...I''ll have to work on that eh?!

Hmm. As I see it, then, I''d probably go with the Novo and wear it as a traditional wedding set, because a few years from now, he might change his tune about getting your the eternity ring to wear on your right hand, but it seems unlikely it''d work the other way around, with you wearing the eternity on your right, and then later adding the Novo band.

If you really, really think he won''t ever change his mind about it, then maybe I''d go with the eternity band because you''ve wanted it for ages. But otherwise, I''d probably get the Novo.

Sorry, I don''t think that helped any.

I think any time you have a solitaire style ring with another band of any kind it looks very "married"...or even 2 band rings. I don''t think you can go wrong with either one.

Well I''ve put in a request to get a quote for the matching band - I think that will help me make the decision. I think I do like the idea of having the matching ''wedding'' look - I''ll update everyone soon!

Dani - thanks for trying! I''m looking forward to seeing the pics! :-)
