Would like people's thoughts on the following. I've all but given up trying to find any style I like in Palladium, and will go with Platinum. My favorite out of these is the James Allen one -- why is it so expensive? especially when compared to Whiteflash's "Elena", which by all means seems to be superior as far as material goes?

A link to my e-ring is here: (palladium vatche x-prong)

I do like the look of the non-matching. Also it will be more functional, as she can't wear the e-ring every day due to her work.

I also don't want to go with eternity style, as it appears it cannot be resized??

You are the guy right? I guess I dont understand why you are picking out the band and not her or you two
together?

Agreed. Why not let her pick out which band she wants? Unless you are both picking out each others bands as a surprise???

She knows that she wants ~2mm diamond wrapper. They are all very similar, I am just trying to reduce the options for her, as I know the "vendor field" already, so to speak.

She also doesn't know/care/bothered about the smaller details (metal type, VS vs SI etc., eternity=no resize). She prefers if I pick it out (believe it or not), BUT what I really think she "wants"(female translation) is for me to narrow to about 5 or so for her to choose from -- we may also roam locally on a weekend. In a nutshell -- she wants me to do the research and present some to her.

I emailed JA about the above in Palladium, and the sales agent is going to get back to me. I am very curious why it seems to be just as expensive as WF's ring, when the WF seems to have better/larger diamonds, etc.

Also, I am curious what others here think, as it helps me narrow down the choices and gain other insights.

I personally just happen to like the look of the JA better here, ultimately it will be her decision =)

The WG version for JA is $150 more...it could have to do with subtle design elements.

And for PT its a difference of $200. I just thought it odd due to diamond comparions. They are of equal color and clarity, but the WF has 6 more diamonds for a total weight of 0.14 more (47% increase in tw compared to the JA). Obviously the JA has more metal, and I guess it would appear the metal in this case is more valuable than the diamonds. I just wanted to run it by the experts at pricescope.

Also, do you guys like the JA or the WF better as far as looks?

Yea, I don't know why the JA version cost more...

I'd think the JA one is more costly bc they're french cut stones as opposed to traditional diamond melee. But I could be wrong here?

I would wait and not even try to figure this out until you take her to a jewelry store and let her try on some bands to see what looks best with her e-ring. I am not sure that those you posted would look best with an x-prong. So really, she needs to try some on to determine style and then you can decide whether to buy locally or order from a PS vendor. I'd go to a fine jeweler who should have several different styles in very nice quality (Tiffany's has a nice selection if you happen to be near one).

Solid advice. We are definitely going to do that. Do you have any suggestions with the x-prong? The only thing she doesn't like (for sure) is channel set and the fitted (i.e. curved) rings. She would like a ring she can wear w/o e-ring due to work.

We both saw this thread and liked the look (a 2mm shared prong)

Dont get me wrong, we are both open to ideas -- but I just don't know what else.

Suggestions are appreciated. :appl:

It's hard to make suggestions on this because it's just very much driven by your fiance's preference. Go look a few rings and when you hone in on a style, we can help with finding the a good deal.
