My soon to be fiance is planning to get me a 1.81 carat round diamond on a pave diamond band. does anyone have a picture of a ring with the center stone around that size, just wanna get an idea of what to expect :) :) :)

thanks so much, am new to the forum so just getting used to it.
i stone is a 1.81, G, SI1 EGL USA

I am going to have the ring placed on the band that i am attaching the pic of

do you guys recommend having the diamonds on the band going all the way around or 3/4 of the way?

also do you recommend 4 or 6 prongs?

Personally I would not go all the way around 3/4 is good so you are able to resize a bit. I have 4 claw now and my diamond moves, so I am changing to 6 claw. Once again this totally depends on what you like 6 claw is much more secure for a large stone

I think your ring is going to be gorgeous. I have a 1.67 ct with a 4 prong setting. I think the 4 prong settings let more of the diamond show. What a great size, you must be so excited

I have a 1.73 set in a 4 prong setting. I prefer to see more of the diamond as well, and have never had a problem with the stone being loose...

What a beautiful setting

, I think 3/4 would be a good idea, so you have some room for making the ring smaller or bigger!! I personally like 6 prongs, but is just my taste.

Congrats! I hope you love it. I would do 3/4 so that you can resize the rings in the future if needed.

I've had 6 prongs and now I have 4. As long as you have a strong setting and check your ring regularly 4 prongs are fine.

edited for spelling!

I would also recommend 3/4 eternity . . . you never know which way you may need to size it, so it''s always good to have some wiggle room.

What''s your ring size? That might help with getting an idea of proportions.

That is a pretty setting!
I agree that 3/4 around is good...I would like to know that I would have the option to resize if needed.

Congratulations. I hope you love it! I agree with 3/4 :) One idea is to have your designer have engraving that way it still looks like their are diamonds all the way around. It is a little antiquy looking to do that though and might not fit in with the style you anticipate.

I think the setting you''ve chosen is lovely! I have a full eternity wedding band. I love the fact that it''s full eternity, but I must admit I fear that years down the road it may not fit.

For the ering I''d DEFINATELY say go 3/4. No way she''s ever going to wear the ROCK down. :)

Very pretty.
