What a cutie! She sounds like a bundle of fun, and I can tell how much you already adore her!
I love the name too! It was the name she came with, but we loved it and decided to keep it for her.Date: 5/3/2008 6:16:09 PM

HI:
Enjoy her--she is adorable! Great name too.....
cheers--Sharon
Sure, DH has fairly severe cat allergies to normal cats. He usually is almost instantly affected and even has trouble breathing after just being in a house with people that have cats in addition to the red itchy eyes and sneezing. I''ve heard that some people are just as affected by Sphynx since they still have saliva and dander, but luckily his reaction is drastically reduced with her relative to other cats. He doesn''t have any reactions at all unless he is playing with her and petting her and forgets to wash his hands.Date: 5/3/2008 6:29:00 PM

She is gorgeous - I''d LOVE to have one.
Can I ask how bad your husbands allergies are normally and how bad they are with this particular breed?
My FI has very bad cat allergies, but would love a cat. I keep looking at Sphynx and wondering...
I''ve done some reading about this and came across similar findings as you. Basically most people are allergic to the combination of saliva and dander when it is mixed together after cats give them selves a bath. Blueberry still has saliva and dander and thus people can still be allergic to Sphynx. However, she gives herself less frequent baths and the saliva and dander isn''t spread around as much in furniture or the air because she doesn''t shed. The only time he gets allergies is when he is in contact with her and pets her. So it is still possible to have allergies to Sphynx, but the reactions are usually reduced.Date: 5/3/2008 9:13:42 PM

Yes, I will be interested in hearing a little more about her DH''s allergies, too. I understand that it is a specific protein in cats'' saliva that most people are actually *allergic* too, and (also as I understand it) Sphynx''s have that protein just like other cats. But yet anecdotally, I have heard and read that many people do seem far less allergy-affected by a Sphynx than other breeds. Great news for allergy sufferers, but rather perplexing!Date: 5/3/2008 6:29:00 PM

I have also heard that Ragdolls are more hypoallergenic than a lot of other cats, because (allegedly) they have *hair* rather than *fur*... I don''t know if that''s the case with Boo or not. I do know that my DH also has allergies and asthma, but he tolerates Boo very well. (Thank goodness!) But as Boo is semi-longhaired, there is cat hair EVERYWHERE... so if someone was allergic to *cat hair* (is that even an allergy? I don''t really know!) they would NOT likely do well in my house!![]()

Oh, what a precious! Good on you for giving her a home, K!
Aw, thanks! I think she is gorgeous too, but I know others sometimes think that hairless cats are strange. I think they are sort of strange/cute if that makes any sense. I also think their big ears are adorable. She definitely provides endless hours of entertainment already. She loves to play and she is so funny when she does it that we could just sit and watch her.Date: 5/3/2008 10:34:16 PM

EEEK! She is sooooooooo GORGEOUS! She looks like a beautiful cat statue in the one where she''s sitting up and facing the camera. But I love how she''s just a regular kitty in most of the pictures! What a special kitty!
I love my cats so much-they seriously provide endless hours of entertainment, not to mention that they keep me company! They''re just such good little friends! I know you will love having her around-it looks like you already do!
Feel free to post more pics of Blueberry! (Cute name, too!)
How cool your friend is a breeder, you must have so much fun playing with all of her new kittens all the time! Thanks for the compliments on our home...I love decorating. I love warm colors too, our bedroom is pumpkin orange...I''d love to decorate your home LOL although many psers are much better at it that me. Feel free to post room pictures and ask for comments, they are usually awesome at giving suggestions.Date: 5/3/2008 10:55:42 PM

My grilfriend breeds these cats. They are sooooo awesome!! Blueberry is a GREAT name and she''s a cutie.
Although I have to admit I was distracted by the awesome yellow color of the walls and the rust colored curtains. Can you come and decorate my humble abode????
I think she is sort of regal looking too, almost egyptian or something... Congratulations on your first pet!! They are so worth it aren''t they?!Date: 5/3/2008 11:22:11 PM

Thanks, she loves the dinning room because of the big windows. If I forget to pull out the chair for her she meows until I pull it out so she can easily jump up LOL.Date: 5/3/2008 11:28:42 PM

I love how she looks in your dining room, she looks perfect! Enjoy your new lovely pet!
What a beautiful statue, it does remind me of her...especially the way she stands up. They have similar builds as well, fairly thin. I gave her a little photoshoot today and I will post some new pictures soon!Date: 5/4/2008 1:54:46 AM

Ok we 2artists are both massive animal nuts so we gathered by the computer to take a look. Yeah serious artists who go bonkers over cuteoverload (shhhh its a secret)! We are also obsessed with Egyptian art too. So we love the photos of your cat. She is soo gorgeous!!! She is regal and looks so queenly. Very leonine. We hope you post a million more photos of her! If I were you I would do a million and one photo shoots of her. She would look fabulous in black and white shots also. Shots against a stark black studio backround would be cool too. We love the window shots and the one of her in the dark blanket. If you want some interesting reading look up the relationships Ancient Egyptians had to their cats and how they were used in their art. AKA Bastet. Also Blueberry reminds me of the Gayer-Anderson Cat at the British Museum. I love that piece. They sell copies of it that look pretty decent too in their online store. It is a very Pricescope feline since it wears jewelry!
I hope you find one, they take a while to find but it''s so worth it!!Date: 5/4/2008 5:59:43 PM
