The jeweler I went to on Saturday that had the Vivida cut called today. He is getting some more diamonds for me to see and they will be in on Wednesday. He seems to have better prices than the one I saw today. First one he told me about is:

1.06
F VVS2
square radiant brilliant cut
AGS Ideal perfect
Excellent polish and symmetry (that''s all the info he has right now)
$7,500
1. there is no ''ags ideal perfect'' did he really say that?

2. i am pretty certain ags is not giving cut grades to any shapes other than round and princess currently.
3. excellent polish/symmetry will not get an ''ideal'' (certainly not ideal perfect!) grade from ags.

not impressed so far.

F VS2
Ideal Plus

1 carat, it is a EGL/USA but......... I thought I heard on here that they don''t have as strict of a grading. If I like the color of it and all that, being it is an Ideal cut, and also excellent polish and excellent symmetry and no culet,
do you think that would be a good diamond??????

''ideal'' cut according to whom? and how did they determine it was ideal? i wouldn''t want an ''ideal'' diamond from a lab that is considered less strict with their grading. would you?

Oh brother....Well, he said when I saw him he would have the information as to the proportions of the stone. I only talked to him over the phone so I think he figured he could tell me the rest when I got there. He is going to have 4 or 5 diamonds so it would have been confusing anyway trying to write down dimensions and all....Now I am thinking maybe the Vivida is better after all (even though it seems obvious no one has seen it or heard of it! When I look back at the stats for that it IS GIA cert
1.22 carat
F VS2
no floresence and no culet (only good polish though and symmetry

And the rest of the info is in my first posting I think.... But compared to what I am hearing and seeing, it looks great and people here seemed to think it was a good diamond. And I found a picture of one that looks REALLY just like it (to me, but what do I know)
http://www.goodoldgold.com/ShapeTutorials/LucereTutorial/

so there must be different companies coming out with this cut? I don''t know how to cut and paste this picture so hope it is ok to put in the link. What do you all think? Maybe I should just go with the Vivida (picture is in previous posting of that)
