Hi all,
I've been lurking for information and inspiration during the process of having my engagement ring - an inheritance from my grandmother - altered to fit my taste and lifestyle. Now that the process is complete, I would love people's thoughts on the alterations I settled on. I was really trying to simplify and tone down the ring without completely losing the style and qualities that make it distinctive. Basically, I wanted to honor my grandmother's taste and have a ring that reflect my slightly more understated aesthetic. I'd love to know what people think of the finished product.
The center diamond is about .8 carats (G, VS-1) and is bead set with a halo of 11 round diamonds. The crown is platinum, but the band is white gold because I'm on a budget!
The original ring is posted here: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/my-vintage-engagement-ring-the-before-shot.142575/
Thanks,
Coriandrum
