Victor Canera vs. Maytal Hannah

Hello,
I recently stumbled upon PS after I stalked a google pic of Frankie’s newest ring made by Victor Canera. I immediately wanted to use VC to reset my 1.87 carat brilliant cut diamond into a round delicate halo setting (Emilya) with flush matching band...but then I saw rave reviews about Maytal Hannah and it appears she also does gorgeous work. I received quotes from both and MH is significantly cheaper but it seems VC is a PS favorite for halos, especially recently. I would love your honest opinions on whether MH is equally as good, or do I bite the bullet and spend the extra money? The more details you can give me the better. Pics welcome, too! Thank you!

I seem to be in the minority here but recently received very poor customer service from a VC staff member.

Sadly my experience was very different to what people talk about on here so hopefully you go better than I did.

Oh no, I’m sorry to hear that! May I ask what happened? Did you end up purchasing a piece of jewelry from him?

I have had nothing but great service from him. If you are interested in a halo, just reach out and contact him. Don’t be shy and see for yourself. It’s worth it to make the effort and judge for yourself.

Not shy at all...just looking for the opinion of those who have used these designers. I already reached out to VC, but he has an employee who answers emails.

You can also call him directly as well. And speak to him. I know that many people email first. I find conversing allows for a more immediate connection. Just sayin’.

I have had great customer service by Victor for my 4 ring projects. During my first project I have sent about 100 mails and Victor never got irritated or annoyed. His work and customer service are top notch. I have had a pleasant experience in dealing with Victor, but also with his assistants.

I wasn’t able to make a purchase as the assistant I dealt with couldn’t have been more unhelpful if he tried and I couldn’t get straight answers or sometimes even answers at all!

As I said, my experience is different to most on here and I am beyond disappointed so do your own research and see how you go!

Victor is obviously well respected here, I just haven’t been lucky enough to experience what others have!

I love Victor and also have had great experiences with him. But before I knew Victor, I did have a great experience with Maytal. She made my daughter's bead set, engraved, diamond wedding band. It is beautifully made! I certainly recommend her, as well.

I spoke to Victor directly when he was making my custom ring, received quotes from Nicholas who then directed me to Victor once I signed the work order for all the details. If questions arose via email Victor picked up the phone and called me. This was my experience so I VC for me. No he experience w MH her work looks lovely as well.

I was underwhelmed by my experience with VC's assistants. They didn't seem interested in my project and more or less said "the ring will look like this and here's the cost". It was a custom project, not a copy of something they've already made, so I was disappointed in the lack of interest in discussing the details and exactly what I was looking for. I might have pushed more and called but the price was out of my budget anyway.

MH was cheaper and she's been lovely to work with. I don't have my ring yet but I'm confident she can execute my design and she seems excited to make it as good as possible

With that said if I wanted a specific design from VC's site, and their price was in my budget, I'd go with them. They do beautiful work and I'm sure choosing one of their existing designs would be fine. But for full custom I would go back to MH.
