I hope I am posting to the right forum! My BF and I picked out a Verragio Couture 0444 two-tone (white & rose gold) setting (the ring would be rose gold, halo white gold and inlay white gold). We are working with an authorized Verragio retailer in Atlanta. I absolutely LOVE the style of the ring. It's perfect for me. My issue is that 18K rose gold is not very appealing to me. It's a bit too yellow. I really prefer the pinkish hue of 14K rose gold. Also, I simply prefer to have a harder metal. However, it seems Verragio will ONLY offer their two tone rings in 18K or 20K metal. I can only get 14K rose gold if I do the ENTIRE ring in rose gold.

SO. The seller is going to contact Verragio for me and plead my case. I'm willing to go a "custom" route if that is the only way to get 14K rose gold, but does anyone else have any experience pushing back on them for this? Will they even do it?

I'm beyond frustrated right now and it's challenging because for the money we're spending on this I want it to be exactly what I want and last a long time. Thoughts, tips, suggestions (or general reassurance) would be great! Thanks so much! :-)

Have you looked at Gabriel and Co settings? They have some similar two-tone designs and you may like the tone of their rose gold.

Honestly if they aren't willing to work with you on this, i would go the custom route, with Victor Canera or David Klass, the color of the metal is hard to change, and pinks are hard to match on all skin tones so you should get the one you want, but i'm learning patience is key. Good luck!

My personal preference is actually 18kt rose gold because of its rich color especially when in contrast with white gold, but I won’t be the one wearing the ring, so my preference doesn’t really matter :) if the company won’t be willing to work with you, I would either consider their setting as is, or as suggested - look into other alternatives. Good luck!

I really can't recall hearing of anyone trying to get a metal changed from Verragio, but there aren't many Verragio rings posted here, either. Some of us in the past were able to get Vatche to use a harder platinum allow for a solitaire setting, so it is not unheard of. But just so you know, there are various alloy combinations at 14k and 18k rose gold, so you need to be very specific about the color you are after. 14k with 58% gold and most of the rest copper is going to be pretty reddish. The amount of silver can tone it down some. I know little about it, but I just know colors of rose gold vary even in 14k.

I did check out Gabriel & Co. Unfortunately, none of their styles really "wowed" me (personally).

Thank you so much. I really am not wavering on the style of the ring. So, to your point, I'm just thinking I should get the setting as it is. I have a skin tone that really works with anything so it's not like it will look bad on me- just more of a preference I guess. Verragio let us know that due to how the cast the two tone, it's necessary for them to use to 18K for a bunch of scientific, technical reasons I couldn't really understand, lol!

Thanks! Yes, I've been doing my research on all the various percentages and ratios! It's a bit overwhelming! I did see the ring in "real life" so I was able to see the color in person. It wasn't intolerable, just not ideal for what I had hoped in a rose gold. :-)

Thanks for the advice! I considered reaching out to them, but there is absolutely nothing I would change on the Verragio besides the option to have it in 14K rose. Would it make sense to have the ring completely replicated simply to have the 14K?

All these options! Yikes! My poor head hurts! LOL! :-) Thank you everyone!!!

None of them would copy that ring, except DK might come close. The others would have make substantial changes to be willing to do something similar. So your best bet is to stick with Verragio, even if they won't change the rose gold. I think it is beautiful as it is, and the rose gold is broken up with all the pave diamonds anyway. 18k is beautiful in its own right, so you really can't go wrong!

Thank you so much for the reassurance! :-) And I really didn't want to go custom so I agree that it is likely just best to stick with the ring because I love it. I'm sure you're right that the diamonds help to break it up. I appreciate your response!

It's a beautiful setting! I hope when you get it you will come back and post pictures for us in the Show Me the Bling part of the forum!
