Feels like I've been waiting forever to receive the ring. I guess it was all too tightly planned to order a stone and setting 3/23, have it arrive 4/3 and propose this weekend... I sure hope the stone I selected far exceeds the quality difference that could've been had shopping at a local jeweler. Though she wouldn't care whether the stone is a high performer or not. Is it selfish of me to have shopped for this diamond the way I would shop for my own purchases? Nitpicking at the details and shopping around? I'm so anxious to see the ring already but even more so to be engaged to my incredible girlfriend.

Damn you weather!!

So... you're blaming your high standards rather than the fact that you didn't plan ahead? And - are you seriously saying it's "selfish" to want the best for your GF as you would for yourself? Oy! Methinks that's some mighty convoluted thinking there.

You'll be getting an excellently cut stone that will almost certainly out-perform the diamonds you might have found locally for a comparable price. While your GF might not know anything about diamond quality, I guarantee that she will appreciate the end result of your search, and the compliments that her new ring is sure to get.

Best wishes for the speedy arrival of the engagement ring, and for your upcoming proposal.

Yes you gave your self very little time.

Whats the big deal about proposing this weekend?

There's no deadline or anything. We're visiting her parents this weekend. Just to voice my frustration somewhere. At beginning of this search, I didn't envision taking 2 months. But I discovered pricescope and will have gained a wealth of knowledge for my troubles.

What is that saying about a watch pot?

Vent away! Come back with the happy pictures--smiling faces because of beautiful rings!!

cheers--Shaorn

Well I am sorry if it doesn't come by when you need it but whenever to comes I'm sure the proposal will be special. And if it's any consolation, the fact you dont propose this weekend will make a proposal say, on Tuesday, that much more of an utter surprise!
