It's arrived! A huge thanks to everyone who's helped me along the way. If you followed my journey you'll see I originally ordered a H/IF/1.73 from BN with a miserable hca of 5.0!

After all your help I've ended up with a 2.43/vs1/I with hca of 1.4 :)

Immeditelty I can see the difference. This diamond sparkles so much it's hard to even take a picture :) :). Anyway enough jibber jabber, here's some pictures. Oh and loving the vsb fluorescence! I'll be buying a keyring uv light later to play with the fluorescence in the dark lol. Once I propose I'm sure she'll never let me near it again!

Who could say no to that set, simply gorgeous!

Congratulations on a beautiful ring with a superb diamond! :appl: :appl: :appl:

Wow. Gorgeous! Enjoy your beauty in health and happiness. :appl:

it's perfect and I loved watching your story unfold! Best wishes for a beautiful engagement!

Very nice! Glad it all worked out well :)

Gorgeous set! You chose well!

The ring came out amazingly beautiful
Your gf will be amazed!!! The center stone shines and the craftmanship is impeccable. Please post a lot more pics, also of the profile. And you ordered the eternity with a notch didn't you? Would love to see some detailed pics of that as well.

Victor worked really fast! What was the timeframe from signing the work order to actually receiving the ring?
It was amazing to see how your story unfolded... and with an amazing result!!!

Absolutely gorgeous!

Amazing!

Thanks for all the nice commnents :) I have an hour or so before I need to put the ring into hiding so request any shots you want now :)

I took a few more. The notch came out very well, it sits next to the donut perfectly (the donut is even paved), and doesn't move at all (one one side) and moves slightly if paired on the other side. I guess he shaped it perfectly to match one side, and there's more of a tolerance on the other side.

After talking to victor again I decided to make it a full eternity so it can be worn upside down on it's own if needs be. The pave is so delicate and inset that it doesn't hit into things having it go all the way around.

The ER is 2/3rds though because it's likely that may need to be sized very slightly over time. Anyway more pictures as requested.

Some more. Oh yeah and I have to say this thing looks so delicate - you can see that in the macro shots, but then imagine how that looks to normal eyes - it truly is amazing work.

Also with regards to the I colour - I honestly can't notice any yellow at all. I checked against some white paper and still couldn't tell - also I found it seems to reflect the colour around it so much in normal situations, it's almost impossible to find a normal setting where you would only see it white anyway.

PS. sorry for the blurry iphone pics.

A gorgeous set...you made a wise choice.

AHhhhh so did you make the wedding band with diamonds going around the entire band???? I didn't know that was an option.

The craftsmanship from VC is perfect as usual! How sweet and romantic of you to do all this as a surprise! Please post with pics after she says yes!

So gorgeous!!! ...but I never doubted -- VC is amazing!!! :appl:

You did wonderfully, congrats!! Seriously beautiful - can't wait to hear what your girlfriend thinks!!

no words :appl: :appl: :appl: :naughty:  :twirl: :twirl:

Spectacular! I'm sure she will love it!

Love the new photo's
What a luxurious set. So sweet of you to also order the matching eternity for her.

gorgeous! Glad you went with VC. She's going to love it!

Amazing! You nailed it! Congrats!

What a beautiful set, I'm sure your GF will absolutely love it!!

I especially like your idea of making the wedding band a full eternity so she can wear it upside down by itself if she'd like, that's very creative. Please come back and share handshots once you've proposed.

:appl: :appl: I wasn't sure when exactly you're planning to take her on holiday but that's going to be a trip to remember for sure!! :appl: :appl:

These are absolutely stunning!!! Congratulations!
I have been following your progress for the past month! I am in the beginning stages of working with Victor to design my ER and WB. Initially I was confident that the Evelyn Solitaire with flush stems was the one for me but the more and more pictures I view of the Emilya on PS the more I fall in love with that particular halo setting. I was hoping you could help answer a couple questions, this is all so knew to me and I'm so grateful for PS because everyone on here provides such amazing feedback and advice. Incredibly useful for first time buyers!

I was wondering if in the end you had Victor source your center stone? Also, because we are not based in California (instead on the East Coast) did you run into any difficulties with the distance, like were you able to view the diamond in person before giving VC the go ahead with setting it, or did you just trust him?

I appreciate all of your advice! Thanks again and your Wedding set looks stunning!

Lucent, just to give you another opinion, as long as you choose a diamond that is ideal cut and has the images to prove it, I don't think I'd need to see a round brilliant before setting it.

The rings dare gorgeous! I take it the indented area in the wedding band can double as a sizing area if ever needed. That was pretty clever!

Thank you DiamondSeeker. Just wanted to double check. I know a lot of people buy e-rings/ e-diamonds and go else wear for the setting :)

I keep coming back to check if you have proposed! :) And to look at this ring again!

Also, whenever you are able to capture hand shots, would you mind sharing the dimensions of your diamond you chose? (the mm width?) and finger size for ring? :D

I'm dubious about posting when in case she's on here reading but it's 'soon' :)

Here's the details on the diamond!

EDIT: Oh and i just found out it's phosphorescent :) I tried to capture it in a picture but my iphone won't capture it properly. It continues to glow a yellow/white after the UV is removed for quite some time (3+ minutes).

Here's a picture of it under UV.

Victor did help me search but in the end I found my own diamond (only because I happened to find a good one first). He did verify it was visually good and I trust his judgement. Even if you're sceptical you have to remember it's really not in his interest to make a custom piece based on a sub-standard cut diamond :)

If you pay him, he will make the ring with any decent outside-sourced diamond. Mine was a very good cut K color. ;)
