Useless things you really want

A sewing machine. Not that they're useless, but that I'm useless on one.

I am useless at anything involving textile and thread.

I have one I've never even taken out of the box! I just *knew* I would learn how to sew in the time it took me to find a job in my new city. Guess I got hired too quickly? :cheeky: I'll learn next year...it can be my resolution!

Chanel handbag - not happening any time soon.

A boat...with good boat jewelry. :cheeky:

And wardrobe. You have to dress appropriately, you know.

No, I mean jewelry for the boat itself! But, yah, I'll take a boat wardrobe too and some nautical jewels.

I'm totally on board with the Kitchen Aid!!! I also want:

One of those cool digital sewing machines. They're so cool. Never mind that I don't sew very well, nor do I have time during the school year....

A spinning wheel. I don't like working with hand spun yarns (the unevenness drives me batty!!!) but I think it's totally cool!
A sock knitting machine. Would LOVE this!!!

That's all I can think of right now...

I want a light brown Levenger leather book weight with my initials embossed on it.
I already have a leather book weight, but it doesn't have my initials on it. And it's black.
Totally unnecessary. But I WAAAAAAANT!

Gosh, I have a KitchenAid and I've only used it a few times in three years. I've been considering selling it, but perhaps I'm just not appreciating it enough. I hate baking, love cooking, so . . .

When PS preloved goes for all things, sell it to me. I'll only buy it if it's not a HPP though.

Seriously though, that's what I am afraid of (not taking it out of the box)...good intentions, but you know how that goes.......

Oh, I want a sewing machine, too. I know it would be a huge distraction from my writing, though, so I'm not going to get one until I finish my WIP. I have a mini sewing machine that I can use to make small things, but it's not the same. Oh, how I wish I still had access to the U of I costume shop! The machines! The dress forms! The fabrics!

A Balenciaga handbag, even though I never spend a lot of money on bags, ever. For some reason, I'm really drawn to them, even though I think it's a waste of money.

I really, really want a miniature horse. Not that they're useless but they're totally impractical for where I live.

Would they be more practical in a different climate? If so, move there! :cheeky: Hahaha I LOVE miniature horses!

I was thinking of the city and the development I live in. There was actually a miniature horse in my state who became famous a few years ago because he was thought to be the world's smallest horse. Einstein's his name.

Not Li'l Sebastian? (Parks and Rec reference)

Out of curiosity... what purpose do miniature horses serve? (Really! I am a city girl... I thought miniature horses were just cute looking  )

They make great lawn mowers! (seriously) :D

I have also heard of them being trained like seeing eye dogs to help people with disabilities. They make great companions. :))

LOLOL, now I want to lounge with a book, a blanket over my lap in a reading nook with a rug hanging on the wall while wearing a tiara (after all, why not?) and gazing out the window at my adorable miniature horses. LV trunks make good side tables, right? I may need a moroccan tiled mirror somewhere nearby in which to admire tiara. Oh, and I wouldn't be opposed to someone in the next room whipping up something delicious on the mixer.

Ha, I had a dream last night that my husband got me a miniature horse for Christmas. It was lying down under the tree. I named him Phil.

Pandora, thanks for the heads up about the Queen owning the tiara. I'll add it to my to do list later: write to the Queen and ask if I can borrow Kate Middleton's tiara. I really don't see her saying no. I think we can work something out.

Laila, if it helps to get Balenciaga off your wish list, I have had two in the last three years that have developed cracks in their leather. I'm not hard on my bags, but I do expect a bag that expensive and of a casual design to be able to take some periods of daily wear. I've heard their quality is not what it used to be, and I've given up on them.

I love that tiara! I have one and I love it. I use it with my bunco group and we make whoever has a birthday that month wear it for the night. More than a few of us have confessed to wearing it while vacuuming. Makes the chore, hmm...more regal?! Every girl needs a tiara.

Actually, this is more attainable than you think, if you're willing to go with pre-loved. There are quite a few legitimate ebay vendors that sell authentic used Vuitton, Hermes, Chanel. There is a great purse forum (google is your friend :) and they will review the listing and authenticate any purchases for free.

Or you can try Yoogis Closet, Portero, or Fashionphile websites, they are also legit. Bag, Borrow, or Steal has a sale section as well.

I've purchased 2 used Vuittons as gifts, and the condition was amazing. The Japanese ladies take good care of their bags and then sell them off. But I had to cull through a ton of poor condition pieces. But don't buy anything without the ladies on the forum authenticating it.

Okay I no longer want some these but wanted them in the past probably because of the infomercials! lol

the Clapper (clap on, clap off, clap on clap off . . . the clapper) I got this and never use it! hahaha
The rotisserie that one dude that always does the infomercials made it sound awesome (never bought this, thank goodness, think of all the counter space it would take up) :knockout:

bread maker (I got one but hubby uses it not me)

I just don't need to buy stuff now knowing I hardly use some of these things. hahaha

eta: okay I just got done reading this, doh! I thought usual ins small sort of randoms stuff. I agree, there are handbags I want but don't buy since I actually bought an expensive one years ago and never used because it was so Heavy! There are some gorgeous ones out there and they are very tempting especially seeing some people carry them!! hehe

I always wanted a hot tub, that is totally USELESS! hahaha :cheeky:

HA! I thought of you and this thread last night because a girl I went to high school posted pictures of a kid posing with 2 miniature horses dressed as elves! I don't know how to blur faces or I'd post it here so you could see the horses...if I can figure it out I'll post it! She breeds regular sized horses herself but apparently has a few miniature horses too!

Overdyed rug like these http://decor8blog.com/2010/11/10/over-dyed-vintage-carpet-trend/

Only we can't have rugs of any kind (thanks Four-legged family members!). I also have a related crush on this towel. http://www.calypsostbarth.com/Casbah-Towel-p-18674.html But not the price. GOOD GRIEF.

Love those rugs and towels! My rug-obsessed friend and I decided we just need to hang rugs on our walls when we run out of floor space, and then I found this picture and it actually looks awesome! If you hang it up high enough the cats can't even scratch it!

Oh my gosh Thing! We have a friend who is obsessed with rugs and he layers them on top of each other! they are crazy expensive but beautiful!!! You made me think of him. The wall rugs sound great; I will have to mention that to him!!!

I want a Kitchrn Aid mixer and I don't bake nor will I ever. I don't know. Can't help it.
I have one that is purely ornamental. I just had to have it. I intend on using it *eventually* :wink2: . In the mean time... it's sure nice to look at!

I want a kitchen aid, even though in my family, my mom does the baking while I do the cooking.

I want to upgrade my fish tank. It's currently a 55 gallon saltwater reef tank, and I'd like it to be at least 200 gallons, in the wall, with all the fancy gadgets to make it fun, easy, and super healthy.

I want a library. No, seriously. With a fireplace, a huge wingback chair with a comfy blanket, a little table with a tiffany style lamp, and ladders. I don't care if the ladders are to no where, but it needs rolling ladders. And maybe a murphy bed, so we can have some guests too.

Of of those endless pools, that's also a hot tub.

A 15 ft (or larger) kayak. This would be AMAZING!! http://www.hobiecat.com/kayaks/mirage/adventure/

New garages. Ones we could park our cars in, and that would actually keep animals out. But, the ones we have now serve their storage purpose, so I guess we'll make it work.

Wow, I hope to have enough rugs to layer and hang on my walls some day! I love rugs! :cheeky:

I'll take a Hot Tub too ... but would certainly have plenty of USE for that so maybe it doesn't count? :naughty:

I really want a tiara. Preferably one that can be converted into a necklace, has a removable pendant/pin, etc. What would I do with a tiara? Absolutely nothing. But I think they are so cool and I love how some of them can be taken apart in so many different ways.

What useless thing do you lust for? Don't restrict yourself to jewelry.

I get to wear a tiara daily! In my classroom, my students know they can't interrupt Her Royal Majesty whenever the tiara is on. It comes in handy when I'm running guided reading groups because it's a visual reminder to the rest of the class not to interrupt reading groups. It's also a sanity saver when I desperately need to have at least 30 seconds before I hear one of the kids say my name!

I strongly feel that everyone could get a lot of use out of a tiara!

Maybe someone will bid for this tiara: http://www.christies.com/lotfinder/the-mike-todd-diamond-tiara-an/5507954/lot/lot_details.aspx?from=salesummary&intObjectID=5507954&sid=829dd191-38cf-42b5-8d97-30f3d58c862a

Did that Tiara achieve 4.2million at auction??????!!!!!??????   The estimate was 60-80K

Or is christies deploying an odd currency to my lappy?

My fantasy house has one of these libraries, complete with rolling ladders!
