my sister-in-law loved my ring and gave me the job of picking her a cushion for her upgrade. i've been looking around and found two that seem to match her budget and specs (bigger than a 2 carat, VS2 or eye clean SI1, excellent cut and an I maybe a J). can the old mine cushion experts on this forum pls. tell me which is the better stone... they're both about the same price. if it makes any difference it is going to be set in a halo with split shank.

1. GOG AVC
http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/9204/

2. Generic old mine cut
Measurements - 7.81x7.77x5.36mm
Carat - 2.58 carat
Color - I
Clarity - SI1
Table - 51%
Depth - 69%
Culet - very large

pls. help me decide because we're a little rushed for time. thanks!!

I prefer rectangular cushions.
The generic old mine doesn't have an ASET. And the AVC does.
I would go for the AVC.

Not really liking that OMC. The AVC would be an easy winner between these two.

another +1 for the AVC which looks very pretty.

AVC.

Is that a big inclusion under the table of the 2nd one?

another vote for the AVC! beautiful :)

I would go with the proven performer on GOG. If the OMC had an ASET to compare to it would help.

thank you all for your feedback! that is a big inclusion on the OMC which i just could not overlook. AVC is more expensive per carat but like everyone in this forum says they are a proven winner so i guess i'm going with the AVC. i will post pictures ones the stone has been set.
