I have a 2 carat RB that I'm having reset. I am torn between the Steven Kirsch petal halo and the Victor Canera Emilya halo. I love the delicacy, pave work and minimal metal of the VC Emilya and I'm also in love with the uniqueness of the SK petal. So, I need opinions! I know it comes down to personal preference but I'm completely 50/50. View the links below and please let me know what you think! Thank you!!! :)

Tough call - those are 2 AMAZINGLY AWESOME rings! That is totally personal preference as to which will make you happiest - don't envy that process!!

If I were to be told in 2 seconds or less, with a gun to my head (hoping we can totally skip the gun part...) I'd go w the VC Emilya. I just like the flow of the convex gallery (oops - is it concave or convex? I'm sticking with convex!) It seems sophisticated to my eyes.

Both have gorgeous pave and prong work.

Best of luck!

Both are gorgeous but I would choose the Victor Canera.

Also... have you thought about what your WB is going to be? Would your preferred WB work better with one gallery over another?

VC is more traditional within current styles, the 2nd one more original. Both beautiful!

I would choose the VC style

Thank you so much for your opinions! I want to send out my diamond in the next couple of days! I've been viewing these styles side by side on my computer screen for too long. I'm planning on doing a pave band which would compliment both!

Many PSers have had concerns about height of the pave WB and how it fits well with their E rings, to ensure safety of the stones and setting - diamonds rubbing on the ering will wear away at the prongs. Which ever designer you go with, will they be custom making your WB to fit this setting? That would alleviate a TON of issues, if you go that route.

Yes, I'll be able to have the band custom made from both designers. So, that will be good!

Phew! :appl:

I can see why you are at a loss...they're both so beautiful! I love the look of the petals. Its different and a little bit of a
surprise. However, I also like the simplicity of the VC. Tough call. I'm no help!

I'm going to be the odd one out here. I looooove the petal basket. So pretty and special.

Meanwhile, I must also add that VC made my ring (split shank), which I adore and gets a lot of compliments. He's also amazing to work with.

So I can see why you have a tough decision!

GL!

Anne

Thank you! I appreciate your input. Your ring is gorgeous!

I love the petal style from SK, but you couldn't go wrong with either choice. Good luck.

I prefer the SK petal. I love the VC from a face-up view, but the profile just doesn't do it for me.

I pick SK's leaf basket and VC's halo (more streamline and flows the way I would like)

I was considering halos at one point too, and was also torn between these two styles :)

Thanks for the help everyone! I think VC does a perfect halo. That is the only thing holding me back from the SK. I'm having a hard time giving up the petals!

Both seem to be a modern classic design. Do you think the petals may be 'trendy' and perhaps that's why they are tugging at you a bit more?

Truly, both rings are lovely. If its petals you want... get them! ;))

I think I would have to go with the VC ring. A two carat stone with halo is a lot of ring and while I too think the petals are pretty, I just think it would be too much going on. I too am a minimalist when it comes to settings so I'm probably not the best one to offer an opinion - but there it is!

Maybe the petals are "trendy" but I don't exactly want a trendy ring. I want something classic so that may be more VC. Thanks for pointing that out Enerchi! I also have a small finger - size 4 - so I wonder if the petals will be a little too much.

My vote is for the petal setting by SK. I think it is unique and different. I love petals :D

I like the VC best but both are beautiful and you could not go wrong with either one.

I have a soft spot for the SK petal, since my RHR has a similar gallery, so that's my choice. The VC one is beautiful, too, though.

I like the VC!

I'd pick the VC one--I have a similar style w/ a dual shank and I love it!

I love the VC one. The simplicity is lovely and it is perfect in design. That said, I am not too much a lover of intricate galleries except on colored stones where I think they shine a bit more.

I love VC.

I prefer the design of the SK AND the price (which I am positive will be MUCH less than VC).

I think the SK is a little more unique and I think that makes it a little more special. I wouldn't worry about trendy etc on it because it is still a very classic design on the top.
