Hi All,

I created a thread few days ago about needing to buy a 1.3-1.5 carat with a limited budget (under $7,000). I was told to think about dropping the color to I so here are two more choices! Please let me what you think! Are they a steal or I can find a better one with similar price?

Diamond 1 $5,841
1.31 carat - there is a black crystal right in the center... I was told it is eye-clean. Do you guys think it is a concern?
And also, I read a thread before saying that table% should not exceed 58%. The table of this diamond is 59%, but to my surprise, the HCA score is 1.3. Does it mean 59% table is not a problem here?

Diamond 2 $5,688
1.31 carat - confirmed eye-clean. The major inclusion is twinning wisps. I have heard that twinning wisps can affect the light performance. What do you guys think? The HCA score of this diamond is 1.3.

I wouldn't buy either, these black inclusions would seriously bother me. Also, the first one has a super low crown angle, that's a no. And I hate the inclusions on the second one. You are better off looking at J with flourescense and better clarity.
Call Yekutiel at IDJ, he will find you a stone within budget.

Thanks for your advices. I just did some research of IDJ. It is a brick and mortar store. Wouldn't the price there be higher than online diamond stores like Blue nile, James allen, and etc?

They are special, you haven't been long enough on PS to know, but trust me - they are your best bet.

If anyone tried to tell me those stones were eyeclean i would not trust another word they say.
Yes in ideal lighting from far away (12 inches or so) im sure they sparkle just fine making that black inclusion hard to see.
But in poor lighting and if those stones were set in a ring and i handed that ring to a friend and he/she looked at it 6 inches away to admire it, id be stunned if those black inclusions could not be seen.
Before someone tells you a stone is eye clean you may want to ask " if my fiancee looks at this stone in regular non department store lighting a few inches away is she going to see spots?"
Imo for that kind of money- id get a stone i could look at upclose and just see the facets. The black spots in both stones is only going to be hidden in the right light from a distance.

If those 2 stones are the only choices though the second one is def. less obvious for the inclusions and part of one of the black could be partially hidden under a prong.
But i think you can find better for the significant sum those are priced at.

Neither. Black inclusions like these can't be unseen once seen. It would drive me nuts. I'm not an expert and I don't know all the constraints, but I would drop the color and stick with SI1 and eyeclean. I found a few WF ACAs close to the budget and by dropping color you get to the size. I ditto IDJ, but here are a few from WF and one from HPD. Both have a great upgrade policy, so you can always drop size, increase quality and upgrade in the future.

On target on size, over budget.

Slightly smaller, at budget.
