I am ready to upgrade my wedding band and have decided on hand-engraved with milgrain. I've been looking around for the past six months and have narrowed it down to Canera or Mege as I really like their scrollwork and the platinum alloys they use.

There are a few excellent close-up pics of VC's engraved bands here on pricescope but I can't find any of LM, here or general internet searches. The only picture is the one on his site and that one is of the ring standing up and at an angle. From what I could see, the scrollwork looks well done...but no straight on shots so I could get a better idea if it's worth paying the higher price. (And yes, I've seen the praise and the complaints about one of the contenders, which kind of makes me hesitant.)

Does anyone have a LM engraved band or knows anyone who has one? Has anyone seen one in person and if you have, how does it compare to say...VC?

Thoughts? Opinions?

I've emailed both for quotes. My request was short and sweet, as were their responses. After reading some of the complaints of the one, I'm terrified of asking if there are other pictures available.

Though, I'm probably going to call VC before I decide, because I noticed in their policies, they don't take specific measurement requests beyond ring size. That could just be for their ERs? My ER goes to 4mm in height - not counting the center stone - and anything less than 2mm will look weird. They told me the band is 1.7mm in height/thickness.

LM can do the 2mm height. I would just like to see other pictures of it or a clearer, straight on, one.

Ooo, that ring you linked to is gorgeous.

I have the Steven kirsch version. Love it. Worth a look.

I think VC is more so trying to head off micro-managers on intricate e-ring designs. Definitely worth a call to find out.

I second the suggestion to have a look at Steven Kirsch. I'm planning to have him make my e-ring in a few months.

As for LM... my feeling about who I work with to create my sentimental jewelry is that I shouldn't be terrified to ask them simple questions. I would be too worried the negative energy associated with communicating with them would attach to my jewelry.

Good point. Been there, done that, on a ring my husband bought me for my birthday a few years ago. Don't want a repeat.

I'll take another look at SK.

I think you should email your requirements and ask for a time to schedule a call to talk through them. Since this is custom I do not understand why you wouldn't be able to request width and height. You will know which vendor is a match after the conversation.

Leon is currently making me a ring. I found our email exchanges, which included many photo exchanges, and our phone calls informative and pleasant.

BTW- there is a youtube video on the ring you posted. Search for
